Stage 1 – Collect Gears to Upgrade your Equipment.

Press Circle to select the English language, pressing the expected X button will change the language. If this happens and you are stuck, then delete the game data and start the game again.

Gears are the games’ currency. Collect gears that get dropped from killed enemies as these are needed for upgrades and related trophies. The total amount is shown on the right panel of the screen. Go to the upgrades option in the menu in-between a game to purchase an upgrade.
The Kunai Gun can be used the entire time as it is the most powerful. R2 can also be used to fire.

Aim to collect 30 Gears in 1 game session for Scavenger Trophy. This will more than likely pop during Wave 4. About 10 – 15 can be earned from the bosses.

Upgrade Kunai Gun > Power to begin with. There are 4 upgrades; 1/4 costs 10 Gears. 2/4 costs 20 Gears. 3/4 30 gears. 4/4 50 Gears.
Rate of Fire is a good 2nd upgrade. Purchase 1/3 for 50, then purchase Projectiles 1/2 for 50. Continue until fully upgraded for Tuning Enthusiast Trophy.

These 2 upgrades are optional and not tied to any trophies:
Upgrade Ninja > Health. Upgrading health makes the game easier as it could mean the game lasts longer and more gears are collected in one run.
Upgrade Score > Magnet Power. Will just make collecting the gears a bit easier and therefore quicker to purchase amount needed.

The following can be upgraded in any order and are needed for trophies:
Shuriken Gun (Fully Upgraded).
Environment > Background (x1).
Score > Max multiplier (Fully Upgraded)
Hoverbike (x4 and all used once in game)

Stage 2 – Bosses

Some of the later bosses are more difficult so this is saved until all other trophies are done as it makes them slightly easier.

Go to Score > Extra Bosses and purchase the 3 bosses for them to appear in the game. 1/3 costs 50 gears, 2/3 75 gears, and 3/3 100 gears.
See Boss Carnage trophy for more details.

Ninpo Blaster
Unlock all other trophies.

Congrats and thanks for looking at our guides.

Survival Specialist
Reach wave #3.

It is recommended to upgrade health(Ninja > Health) and the primary weapon (Kunai Gun) to make this trophy easier. This trophy will pop as soon as the 2nd boss is defeated.

Boss Carnage
Defeat every boss at least once.

Using Gears purchase the 3 upgrades at Score > Extra Bosses. This unlocks all bosses and now they will appear in the game. When skulls appear on the screen this is when a boss fight is about to happen.
Like with normal enemies the health bar is shown on the right panel. The katana does not harm the bosses but clears the screen of projectiles and smaller enemies.
The bosses become more difficult the higher the wave e.g. attack more often. So if trying to face a certain boss it may be easier to quit the game after the 1st boss fight if it isn’t the boss needed.

Hanging Snail – Shoot the slug wall hugging enemies as if kept alive they shoot projectiles. When caught in a beam quickly move out of the way as the projectiles will appear right where the beams meet.

Flying Snail – Dodge the spinning circular balls that surround the enemy, and dodge the stingray enemies that appear from the top of the screen. Arrows indicate when they are about to appear.

Spider – Stay near the bottom center of the screen, shoot the swinging spiders as soon as they appear, indicated by arrows and the spider signalling them. Dodge the swarm of projectiles from the spider using a circular motion.

Crab – Stay in the bottom center of the screen to avoid the claws. Shoot the smaller 2 beam enemies by staying in-between their beams. Do a circular dodge around the floating green projectiles.

Fly – Once it finishes spinning, it will charge at you in whichever direction it is currently facing towards. Could be made easier by going to one side then quickly moving to the opposite side before it charges. It will also summon in smaller flies which will be indicated by arrows. Staying at the bottom center of the screen helps avoid the row of projectiles as there will be a gap in the middle. Possibly the easiest boss and gives a good chance of earning the Unrivaled Warrior trophy for killing a boss without being damaged.

Giant Fly with Rotating head – Stay in-between the beams and use the Katana to clear the screen of projectiles. Use the secondary weapon, shuriken gun if the main gun isn’t reaching/hitting the boss.

Legendary Rider
Ride every hoverbike at least once.

Using Gears, purchase each of the 4 hoverbikes and play the game once with each selected. Using all the bikes will pop this trophy. The first costs 20 gears, the second 35, the third 50, and the fourth 75. There is no difference or advantage in using each hoverbike other than their look, so this can be done as one of the last trophies.

Metal Detector III
Pick up a total of 500 gears.

When killing an enemy a gear sometimes appears. Collect it before if falls off screen. Upgrading the magnet will help catch the gears but isn’t required. Collecting gears is accumulative across playthroughs. This trophy will pop while going for all other trophies as more are required to purchase everything needed for trophies.

Exterminator III
Destroy a total of 1000 enemies.

The kill count for killing enemies is accumulative across playthroughs. This trophy will pop while earning all other trophies. Enemies can be killed with the primary and secondary weapon, the Katana weapon, or by crashing into them.

Point Fever
Reach a score multiplier of 9.

The only way to achieve a multiplier of 9 is to purchase all of the multiplier upgrades (Score > Max. multiplier), as it’s capped to which one you have purchased/unlocked. Kill enemies with only a few seconds apart without getting hit to reach multiplier of 9 to earn this trophy. This has to be achieved before reaching a boss as a boss fight resets the multiplier.

Unrivaled Warrior
Defeat any boss without taking damage.

This may come naturally just by the amount of times a boss enemy is fought, practice makes perfect. If not see the Boss Carnage trophy for tips.

Tuning Master
Fully upgrade both main weapons.

To pop this trophy both the Kunai Gun and Shuriken Gun most be fully upgraded by purchasing all upgrades for Power, Projectiles and Rate of Fire.

Ninja Style
Destroy 5+ enemies with one katana slash.

Press triangle to use the Katana Slash. There will be many opportunities to use this when there are at least 5 enemies on the screen but one good chance is when arrows appear at the top of the screen indicating the stingray looking enemies are about to appear, normally in 3 or 4’s. Time this when other enemies are also on the screen for the trophy to pop e.g. when a convoy of flies appear or don’t kill the wall suckers straight away and let them climb up the screen. Bear in mind the Katana needs time to recharge between each use. Also note that the Katana Slash does not affect a bosses’ health, or the spikes that appear from the sides of the screen, but can clear the screen of projectiles.

Rising Star
Reach a highscore of 5000+ points.

Very easily achieved without any upgrades and can be earned around fighting the 2nd boss. Upgrading at least the Kunai Gun/Main Weapon and Ninja>Health will make this even easier. This will also probably come naturally while attempting the Max Multiplier trophy.

Artistic Soul
Unlock a new background.

Simply purchase Environment > Backgrounds for 50 gears to pop this trophy.

Exterminator II
Destroy a total of 500 enemies.

The kill count for killing enemies is accumulative across playthroughs. This trophy will pop while earning all other trophies. Enemies can be killed with the primary and secondary weapon, the Katana weapon, or by crashing into them.

Scavenger
Pick up 30 gears in one attempt.

When killing an enemy a gear sometimes appears. Collect it before if falls off screen. Upgrading the magnet will help catch the gears but isn’t required. Collect 30 gears in game to pop the trophy. This will more than likely pop during Wave 4. Approx. 10 – 15 can be earned from the Bosses.

Metal Detector II
Pick up a total of 250 gears.

Reckless Driver
Destroy 10 enemies by crashing into them.

Crashing into enemies can also kill them, especially the smaller enemies, although it will take health. Killing 10 this way will pop the trophy. This is accumulative and doesn’t have to be done in one game. Will probably come naturally.

Challenge Up
Unlock one additional boss.

Simply purchase the 1st upgrade at Score > Extra Bosses for 50 gears for this trophy to pop. A new boss will now appear in the game.

Tuning Enthusiast
Purchase all upgrades in one category.

Using gears grabbed from killed enemies, purchase all upgrades for one category from the upgrade menu in-between games. e.g. Upgrade Kunai Gun > All upgrades.

Tuning Rookie
Purchase any upgrade.

Using gears grabbed from killed enemies, purchase an upgrade from the upgrade menu in-between games. e.g. Upgrade Kunai Gun > Power 1/4 costs 10 gears.

Metal Detector I
Pick up a total of 100 gears.

Who’s the Boss?
Defeat your first boss.

When skulls appear scrolling across the screen this is an indication a boss enemy is about to appear. Kill it for this trophy. See the Boss Carnage trophy for tips.

Exterminator I
Destroy a total of 250 enemies.

The kill count for killing enemies is accumulative across playthroughs. This trophy will pop while earning all other trophies. Enemies can be killed with the primary and secondary weapon, the Katana weapon, or by crashing into them.
