Welcome to the trophy guide for The Sojourn. This can also be considered a walkthrough and may be used for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Steam. Achievements for Steam and Xbox are in almost all cases the same as the PlayStation 4 Trophies. A roadmap is provided in the stages below.

Stage 1 – Follow the walkthrough to earn all trophies.


There are no missable trophies if you follow this walkthrough. If you do happen to miss one or more of the scrolls, near the end of the game you can earn them in the Garden of Merits.

Legend:

DPS means Dark Power Switch, these allow you to have power to activate Harps, swap to other Statues if it’s active. Allows a limited amount of movement and this is indicated by a bar that drains as you move.

Dark Power Switch allows entrance into the Dark Power World

ST means Statue

GP means Gate Pad, these pads are used to unlock the Gate to exit the level

DBT means Dark Beam Turns

HP means Harp, these play a tune and create a temporary bridge(s) for a limited amount of time

Harp (HP) plays a tune to create a temporary bridge(s)

CLP means Clone Pad, these create a copy of your Statue and allows you to swap from one Clone Pad a Statue and swap to the other Clone Pad with a Statue on it.

Clone Pad (CLP) makes a copy of the Statue (ST)

PG means Portal Gate, these allow you to switch from the Light to Dark worlds so you can use your different environmental elements depending on which world you are in.

B means bridge (either Rubble Bridges that become usable when a HP is played for a limited amount of time or blue bridges that are the Dark World Bridges)

PUR means Pick Up Relic

Pick up the Relic from a Statue, Harp, or Dark Beam Turns

IR means Install Relic

Place or install the Relic on Statue, Harp, or Dark Beam Turns

E means Eye

The Eye allows entrance to the Dark Power World

These can be combined if the Statue is placed on:
a) DPS becomes STDPS (Statue is on Dark Power Switch)

Stand on a Dark Power Switch (STDPS), swap to another ST

b) GP becomes STGP (Statue is on Gate Pad)

Statue on Gate Pad (STGP) unlocks the Locked Gate

Hints: The DPS’ dark power use is limited to a fixed amount of movement.
The duration of a HP playing music is for a limited amount of time.
If your dark power from a DPS is almost empty or all the to full it is still possible to swap (if there is a ST active), ring HP, and activate a DBT.
All walkthrough instructions for collecting the Bonus Scrolls at the end of a challenge level, start from where you could possibly exit a level. Do not exit the level though as this will bring you back to the entrance of the level and this walkthrough does not cover those instructions. If you do exit, you may need to redo a level to get to where the walkthrough information begins to explain the necessary steps.

For this walkthrough the instructions below are one possible way to do some of the puzzles, there could be different solutions for them. When it indicates to swap between different items in the game you may need to move in such a way to face the item that you need to swap with.

  1. First Dawn – (Learn to swap places with ST)
    Go to DPS, swap to ST, and move to exit. (Step by Step Trophy)

  3. Anaphora
    Go to DPS, swap to ST, move some, swap to STDPS, swap to ST, move some, swap to STDPS, swap to ST, and move to exit.
  4. Small Hindrance – (Learn to use Gate Pads)
    Go to DPS, swap to ST, move to GP, swap to STDPS, and move to exit.
  5. Through the Shadows

  9. Intimidation – (Learn you cannot pass through dark weeds (W) while having dark world power.)

  11. Ensemble – (Learn to use multiple Gate pads.)
    Go to DPS, swap to ST1, move so you can still see STDPS slightly, swap to STGP, swap to ST1, move to GP1, swap to ST2, swap to STDPS, swap to GP2, swap to STGP1, swap to ST (use up most of your dark power for movement in front of W, ring HP, and move to exit.
  12. Imitation – (Learn how cloning a ST works.)

  13. Symmetry
    Go to DPS, swap to ST, move through the DPS that STDPS is on, move to GP, swap to STDPS, move to CLP, swap to STGP, swap to CLP1, ring HP, and go to exit.
  14. Bewilderment

    In the Tower (Elevator Levels) – (Learn about the relic)
    As soon as you enter the building ring HP, PUR, move to ST, IR, swap to STGP, and move to exit.

There are four levels on the 1st floor of the Tower.

    Go to CLP, swap to ST, swap to CLP2 (it’s behind the locked gate), move to GP, swap to ST, move to STGP, PUR, IR on HP, ring HP, and move to exit.

    Go to GP, swap to CLP1, cross 1st bridge PUR from HP, ring HP, IR in STGP, move to edge before B, swap to STGP, swap to CLP1, ring HP, move and stop before W, use up dark power, go to edge before B, swap to STGP, swap to CLP2, and move to collect the scroll.
  2. Innocent Mind
    Go to DPS, move ST and PUR, move to STDPS and IR, swap to STDPS, swap to ST, ring HP, go up the stairs to before W, use up the dark power, move to before the B, swap to STDPS, swap to ST, move to GP, swap to STDPS, ring HP, go up the stairs to the exit.

    Go up to Floor 2 in the elevator and this floor has 5 challenge levels.
  5. Guiding Knowledge – (Learn about the dark beams and how they turn in 45 degree increments at a time.)
    Go down the pathway to the DBT, turn it so the beam is on the HP, follow path, ring HP near edge of B, move across both Bs, and go to the exit.
  6. Ambiguous Thoughts
    Go to PUR, move to IR in DBT1, aim DBT1 at the other DBT2, move to be in front of DBT2, swap to ST, move to edge before B, swap to ST, move to turn DBT1 towards GP, swap to ST, move to GP, swap to ST, turn DBT2 towards exit, and go to the exit.
    Bonus Scroll
    Go to DBT2, turn DBT2 towards HP1, ring HP1, move to HP1, ring HP2, and go to collect the scroll.
  7. Labyrinth
    Go to DBT1 (one on the right), turn DBT1 towards DBT2, PUR, move to DBT2 and IR, go back to DBT1, turn so B appears, and go down path to the exit.

    Go to DBT2, turn DBT2 towards DBT1, move to DBT1, turn DBT1 45 degrees towards the scroll area, move back to DBT2, turn DBT2 towards the other path to form a B, move to DBT3, turn DBT3 towards the scroll, and go to collect the scroll.

    Go to ring HP, cross 1st B, ring HP again, PUR, move to IR in DBT, turn DBT towards the stairs where you entered the level from, ring HP, cross 2 bridges, go into the beam, swap to ST, and go to the exit.

    Go to the ST, move to between the 2 bridges gap, swap to ST, ring HP, cross 2 bridges, go to DBT, turn DBT towards the scroll (ST in the beam now), turn around , ring HP, cross the 2 bridges, go to in front of the stairs, swap to ST, and go to collect the scroll.

    Go up to Floor 3 in the Elevator and this floor has 6 challenge levels.
  10. Faith
    Go to DPS, swap to ST, move to DBT, turn DBT towards the other B, move to the back corner, swap to STDPS, move to DBT, turn DBT towards the other bridge, go back to the corner, swap to ST, ring HP, go to GP, move into beam, and go to the exit.

    Go to DBT, turn DBT towards the other bridge, ring HP, IR in STGP, ring HP, swap to STGP, go back to DPS, swap to ST, and move to collect the scroll.
  11. Chain of Rules
    Move to PUR, move to IR in DBT, turn DBT towards the path you are on, go to the end of this path, swap to ST, go into beam, ring HP, go across 2 B, move to corner, swap to ST, go to DBT, turn DBT towards GP, ring HP, go to in front of the locked gate, swap to ST, move to GP, swap to ST, and go to the exit.

    Go back out into the beam on the other side of the unlocked gate to the other side of the B before the HP, swap to STDPS, move to DBT, turn DBT so it is not on any paths, move to DPS, swap to ST, use up almost all of the dark power, ring HP, and go to collect the scroll.
  13. Land of Law
    Go and PUR, move to IR in DBT, turn DBT towards locked gate, move to GP, swap to ST, move to PUR, go to IR in STGP, go towards the locked gate to the edge before the B, swap to STDGP, go to ST, PUR, move to DBT and IR, go to the side of DBT so you are still have the dark power activated, swap to ST in front of locked gate, swap to ST, move to GP, swap to ST, and move to exit.
    Bonus Scroll
    Go past ST to STGP, go to the side of DBT, turn DBT so that the other beam is lined up with it, swap to ST, go to DBT2, turn DBT2 towards the scroll, and go to collect the scroll.
  14. Defining Label
    Go to DBT1, turn DBT1 at DBT2 near the HP, move towards DBT3 that has the relic, ring HP, go to DBT4, turn DBT4 towards DBT2, go back past DBT2, ring HP, go to DBT1, turn DBT1 towards DBT4, ring HP, go to DBT4, turn DBT4 towards exit and go to exit.

    Move to PUR, move to IR in DBT, turn DBT towards HP, ring HP, go to DPS, swap to ST, swap to STDPS, swap to ST, move to turn DBT towards the other HP, swap to STDPS, move to past ST, ring HP, go around to the back corner, swap to STDPS, move past ST, ring HP, and go to the exit.

    Jump down, turn towards the other HP, swap to ST, move to DPS, swap to St, move to GP, swap to ST, ring HP, and move to collect the scroll.
  17. Forbidden Fruit
    Go to DBT1, turn DBT1 towards DBT2, turn DBT2 towards HP, ring HP, move to DBT3, turn DBT3 towards the other platform, ring HP, move to DBT2, turn DBT2 away to go to DBT1, turn DBT1 towards DBT3, move to DBT4, turn DBT4 towards the exit, ring HP, and go to the exit.

  4. In Search of Truth

    Move to DBT1, PUR, turn DBT1 towards the PG, go to DBT2, turn DBT2 towards the path you came down, go through the PG to DBT3, turn DBT3 towards the path you are on, IR on DBT3, go back through the PG, take path towards the exit, and go to the exit.

    Swap to ST, go to DBT4, turn DBT4 towards the path you came down, go to past DBT5 to the corner before the PG so you see the ST near the exit, swap to ST, move to near the PG and that the beam from DBT2 would be on you, swap to ST, got to DBT3, PUR, go through the PG, IR on ST, go back through the PG, swap to ST, go through the PG to near DBT6 so that you can see the PG before the B, swap to ST, go through the PG and back out, swap to ST, and go to collect the scroll.

Chapter 4 is made up of 16 challenge levels and 2 challenge scrolls.

  1. Awakening
    Look at the E, move sideways, move towards the GP, look at the E, swap to ST, and go to the exit.
  2. New Angle
    Look at the E and beyond to HP, ring HP, go across towards the exit, stop once across the bridges, look at the E and the ST beyond, swap to ST, look at the E beyond HP, ring HP, go to the left to GP, look at the E with ST beyond, swap to ST, and go to the exit.
  3. Forgotten Truth
    Move to the right towards the E, pick up the E, move up the stairs towards the GP1 on the left, place the E to the left of ST, move to GP1, look at the E, swap to ST, pick up the E, move to the right of ST, place the E, move to GP2, look at the E, swap to St, pick up the E, and go to the exit.
  4. Call for Unity
    Look at the E, ring HP, pick up the E, place the E at the start of the B, look at E, ring HP, move to DPS, look at the E, swap to ST, look at the E, ring HP, and go to the exit.

    Move to pick up the E, go to DBT, turn DBT towards the path you are on, pick up the E, place the E before the W, go out of the beam towards the W, go to DPS, swap to ST, move to pick up the E, move to DBT, turn DBT towards the direction of HP, pick up the E, move to before the W, place the E, look away, go through where the W were to touch the DPS, move away from the STDPS to the edge before the B, swap to STDPS, swap to ST, go as far along the path before running out of dark power, ring HP, and go across the B to the exit.

    Go back to touch DPS, go back to close where the B will form, swap to STDPS, move to over the B, look at the E, swap to ST, go to the DPS, move back and swap to ST, ring HP, move towards the scroll, swap where you can see the E and ST, move to DPS, go back to swap with ST, ring HP, and go to collect the scroll.
  10. Equality
    Move to the W to the right, move to DBT2, turn DBT2 towards the exit, look at the E, turn DBT2 so you can walk over a B, ring HP, go across the B to DBT3, turn DBT3 in the opposite direction, PUR, ring HP, IR on DBT2, go to DBT1, turn DBT1 towards the exit, move to where the beam will form for DBT1, look at the E, turn around, follow the beam path around towards the exit, ring HP, and go to the exit.

    Go back and ring HP2, move to DBT1, turn DBT1 so that it does not cross the newly formed pathways, move to the W near DBT1, move to where the beam path will form for DBT3, look at the E, move back across the W near DBT1, ring HP2, go to DBT4, turn DBT4 in the opposite direction, go back away from the scroll, ring HP2, go to DBT1, turn DBT1 so it connects all the beams together, go across the W to DBT1, PUR, move to DBT1 beam path and look at the E, move around and be close to the beam near HP2, ring HP2, IR in HP2, ring HP2, PUR, move to DBT4, IR in DBT4, turn DBT4 towards the scroll, and move to collect the scroll.

    Move to the place close to the entrance so you can see the E with the ST and also the GP, look at the E, swap to ST, look at the E, pick up the E, move and place the E before the W, turn around, look at the E, go backwards to DBT, turn DBT towards GP, look at the E, go across the B, look away from the E, go past the W, pick up the E, place the E back on the square platform, look at the E, swap to ST, go between the E and STGP, go backwards to GP, and go to the exit.

    Turn back to where the new pathway appeared, get close to the edge of the beam, ring HP, move quickly to the end of the B before the music stops, at the last second Press X to jump onto the pathway to continue towards the scroll, and move to collect the scroll.
