Welcome to the trophy guide for Rolling Gunner. This can also be considered a walkthrough and may be used for PlayStation 4, 5, Xbox One, Series X and Steam. Achievements for Steam and Xbox are in almost all cases the same as the PlayStation 4/5 Trophies. A roadmap is provided in the stages below.

Stage 1 – Overkill Mode.


-Select the Novice difficulty. The bottom yellow RF-42RA ship is recommended. Complete all 6 stages without making mistakes (kill all enemies). This will give the true ending and hopefully the score related trophies.
-Play through again, this time purposely dying on the true ending boss, without continuing, to get Game Over during the fight.
-Use limiter 3 times in Stage 1.
-Completing the game on Expert difficulty is recommended during Overkill Game Mode.

Stage 2 – Original Mode.


-Play Casual and/or Original difficulty.
-Do not use any bombs on Stage 1 and kill all enemies.
-Use up all your bombs and kill yourself.
-Achieve Max Limiter on Stage 1 boss. Activate it without getting hit, kill the boss after the Limiter runs out.
-Use up all your bombs and kill the 2 Tanks on Stage 4 to get a 1up.

You are the true ace!
Expert Mode Clear.

Thankfully, due to infinite continues, this trophy is easier than it sounds. Just play through the game after selecting the Expert difficulty. It is recommended to play Overkill mode and selecting the bottom/yellow RF-42RA ship.


Scorer candidate
Obtained 100 oversized score items by releasing the limiter once

While using the Max Limiter, collect 100 items from the larger damaged enemies during one use of the limiter. The oversized score item looks like a bird with a star in the middle, like the trophy icon. Much easier during the later levels, as there are many more larger enemies on the screen at one time. Will probably come naturally and can be done on the easier difficulty settings.


Master of Mobile Fortress BAC
Clear Stage 6 with no mistakes

Clearing the stage without missing a single enemy will pop this trophy and give a “No Miss” score bonus during the Mission Complete stats screen. Rotate the Rolling Gunner often to hit all surrounding enemies and use a bomb or the Limiter when available.


Beyond the limits and become a king!
Use limiter release 3 times in Stage 1.

Collect the items from the enemies as you damage them, this will fill up the outer gauge. See the bottom left corner of the screen, once it reaches 1000 you will see a glow appear around the ship, press R2 to use the Limiter, continue collecting items to fill the limit/inner gauge, press R2 again once the inner gauge is full (Max Limiter) or just before the outer gauge runs out. Do this three times during Stage 1 for this trophy. It is possible to use the Limiter twice during the boss fight.


Courageous action
The boss activated the limiter release at the maximum limit gauge and did not hit until the end

It is recommended to attempt this trophy on the stage 1 boss of the Original Mode and using the bottom/yellow ship RF-42RA. It may take a few attempts, if you fail then just restart the stage. Collect the items from the enemies as you damage them during the stage to fill up the outer gauge. See the bottom left corner of the screen, once it reaches 1000 you will see a glow appear around the ship and the limiter is ready to use. Once you reach the boss, position the ship at the bottom left of the boss and press R2 to use the Limiter, continue collecting items to fill the limit/inner gauge, press R2 again once the inner gauge is full (Max Limiter). Stop shooting and do not get hit. Safest place is the far left middle of the screen. Once the inner gauge has ran out, kill the boss. The trophy will pop during the Mission Complete score stats screen. See video for further guidance.

Reached a cumulative total of 5,000,000,000 points.

At the time of writing this trophy is either glitchy or is different to the 2.5 billion trophy, which has to be done in one sitting, and this trophy just means 5 billion earned over multiple playthroughs.


Score fever!
Reached 100,000,000 points in one play

The points required for this trophy need to be earned during 1 set of lives/continue as dying to the point of having to use a continue will reset the score counter. This trophy will probably come naturally and certainly will pop while going for the higher score trophies. It is recommended to play Overkill on the easiest setting, using the Max Limiter as often as possible.


Master of Fire Dragon No. 3
Clear Stage 5 with no mistakes.

Clearing the stage without missing a single enemy will pop this trophy and give a “No Miss” score bonus during the Mission Complete stats screen. Rotate the Rolling Gunner often to hit all surrounding enemies and use a bomb or the Limiter when available.


Master of Pterodactyls
Clear Stage 4 with no mistakes.

Clearing the stage without missing a single enemy will pop this trophy and give a “No Miss” score bonus during the Mission Complete stats screen. Rotate the Rolling Gunner often to hit all surrounding enemies and use a bomb or the Limiter when available.


Bus Thallium Buster!
Defeated the Bastalium Core.

In the same playthrough, all Stages need to be done with no mistakes, meaning to kill all enemies. After killing the Stage 6 boss the Bastalium Core boss will appear. Kill it for this trophy. Playing Overkill version on the Novice setting is recommended. Other trophies may pop while going for this trophy such as the score trophies and other misc ones. There is another trophy, for repeating the requirements for this trophy, but for getting Game Over during the boss fight.


Buster Energy fully open!
Raised the bonus counter to 10000

Items are collected from damaged enemies that make the Limiter’s outer gauge fill up, the amount collected is displayed at the bottom left of the screen. When the counter reaches 1000 the limiter is ready to use. Press R2 to activate the outer limiter and continue collecting items to increase the counter. Press R2 again before it runs out to activate the inner gauge Limiter. Collecting 10,000 will pop this trophy. Easier to obtain during the later levels due to larger enemies and more enemies on screen, giving off more items. Can also be earned during a boss fight like shown in the screenshot.

Bottom left counter needs to reach 10,000.

First-class medal of the galaxy
Obtained 100 or more oversized score items in the result

While using the Max Limiter, collect at least 100 items from damaging the larger enemies during one stage. The oversized score item looks like a bird with a star in the middle, like the trophy icon. Much easier during the later levels, as there are many more larger enemies on the screen at one time. Will probably come naturally and can be done on the easier difficulty settings. During the Mission Complete score stats screen, it will display the amount of oversized items earned during the stage. Collecting over 100 will pop this trophy.


Arcade-class skill!
Original Mode Clear.

Due to infinite amount of continues, this trophy is very easy, just complete all 6 stages of the Original Mode on any difficulty setting.


Dark side of the Moon
Stage 6 clear.

Simply completing Stage 6, during any game mode or difficulty, will pop this trophy at the Mission Complete score stats screen. Very easy due to infinite continues.


First-class Order of the Stars
Obtained an oversized score item

While using the Max Limiter, collect items from the larger damaged enemies. The oversized score item looks like a bird with a star in the middle, like the trophy icon.


Shooter candidate
Cleared Stage 1 with no misses and no bombs

This can only be obtained by playing the original mode. Don’t use any bombs and kill all enemies on Stage 1 for the trophy to pop. Clearing the stage without missing a single enemy will give a “No Miss” score bonus during the Mission Complete stats screen. Rotate the Rolling Gunner often to hit all surrounding enemies is advisable.


Two are enough
Second score extended

After obtaining a certain score a extra life is awarded. 150,000,000 for the 1st life and 300,000,000 is required for the 2nd, which will pop this trophy. Dying and reaching a continue will reset the score counter. Will come naturally while going for the other score related trophies.


Nice bomb!
I lost my ship without activating Auto Bomb.

During the original game mode, use up all your bombs yourself, meaning don’t get hit because doing so will automatically activate a bomb, and then allow yourself to die. At the time of writing this trophy is glitchy and can take many attempts to pop.


Welcome to hell
Challenged rank 50 (training allowed).

Go into the training option on the main menu and change the rank to 50, select to start on a boss section of any stage and then start the game. This trophy will pop immediately, as shown in the screenshot.

Rank 50 easily done in training mode. Trophy pops straight away.

Recharge Master
Maximized energy within 1.5 seconds after releasing the limiter.

Collect the items from the enemies as you damage them, this will fill up the outer gauge. See the bottom left corner of the screen, once it reaches 1000 you will see a glow appear around the ship, press R2 to use the Limiter, continue collecting items to fill the limit/inner gauge, press R2 again once the inner gauge is full (Max Limiter) or just before the outer gauge runs out. Getting the inner gauge full within 1.5 seconds will pop this trophy. Much easier to earn during the later levels due to the amount of enemies and especially the larger enemies that give off larger items that fill the gauge quicker.


Urban Warfare
Stage 2 clear

Simply completing Stage 2, during any game mode or difficulty, will pop this trophy at the Mission Complete score stats screen. Very easy due to infinite continues.


Full limiter
The limiter release was used at the maximum limit gauge

It is possible to get this trophy during the tutorial section at the start of each playthrough. Collect the items from the enemies as you damage them, this will fill up the outer gauge. See the bottom left corner of the screen, once it reaches 1000 you will see a glow appear around the ship, press R2 to use the Limiter, continue collecting items to fill the limit/inner gauge, press R2 again once the inner gauge is full (Max Limiter) or just before the outer gauge runs out.

Collect the items from the enemies as you damage them, this will fill up the outer gauge. Do this twice during Stage 1 for this trophy. It’s possible to use the Limiter twice during the boss fight.


It’s profitable!
Reached a cumulative total of 2,500,000,000 points

It is recommended to play Overkill mode on the Novice setting. Achieve No Mistakes on all levels and face the true ending boss, the Bastalium Core. Here is a video of a playthrough, the score was reached during the battle with Bastalium Core.

Root of Disaster
Stage 4 clear

Simply completing Stage 4, during any game mode or difficulty, will pop this trophy at the Mission Complete score stats screen. Very easy due to infinite continues.


Bad, another cup
1st score extended.

After obtaining a certain score, an extra life is awarded, popping this trophy. 150,000,000 is required. Dying and reaching a continue will reset the score counter. Will come naturally while going for the other score related trophies.

Registered the score on the leaderboard.

At the time of writing this trophy seems a bit glitchy. Each time you finish a playthrough, either by Game over or completion, the leaderboard will be displayed with your new score on it, hopefully popping this trophy. Many playthroughs are required so there are many chances for it to pop.


Please do rolling teacher
The limiter was released 20 times during one play.

Collect the items from the enemies as you damage them, this will fill up the outer gauge. See the bottom left corner of the screen, once it reaches 1000 you will see a glow appear around the ship, press R2 to use the Limiter, continue collecting items to fill the limit/inner gauge, press R2 again once the inner gauge is full (Max Limiter) or just before the outer gauge runs out.


Heading for sSpace
Stage 5 clear

Simply completing Stage 5, during any game mode or difficulty, will pop this trophy at the Mission Complete score stats screen. Very easy due to infinite continues.


BAC got the earth!
Game over in battle with Bastalium Core.

To reach the Bastalium Core boss all 6 stages needed to be completed with no mistakes by killing all enemies. Once reached, purposely die and do not continue. This trophy will pop on the Game Over screen.


The Last Shining Star
Stage 1 clear.

Simply completing Stage 1, during any game mode or difficulty, will pop this trophy at the Mission Complete score stats screen. Very easy due to infinite continues.


Master of Penetrator
Clear Stage 3 with no mistakes.

Clearing the stage without missing a single enemy will pop this trophy and give a “No Miss” score bonus during the Mission Complete stats screen. Rotate the Rolling Gunner often to hit all surrounding enemies and use a bomb or the Limiter when available.


Master of Buster Plant 103
Clear Stage 2 with no mistakes.

Clearing the stage without missing a single enemy will pop this trophy and give a “No Miss” score bonus during the Mission Complete stats screen. Rotate the Rolling Gunner often to hit all surrounding enemies and use a bomb or the Limiter when available.


Master of Goose
Clear Stage 1 with no mistakes.

Clearing the stage without missing a single enemy will pop this trophy and give a “No Miss” score bonus during the Mission Complete stats screen. Rotate the Rolling Gunner often to hit all surrounding enemies and use a bomb or the Limiter when available.


I wonder if this could happen
Obtained 1UP item.

This can only be earned on Stage 4 during Original Mode. After the section where the screen descends a large tank will appear on the right and then shortly after one on the left. Kill both of these without using a bomb for the 1up item to appear. It is advised to use up all your bombs before reaching this section as getting hit will automatically activate one. Maybe practice it in training mode although many playthroughs of the game are required so there are many chances. It is ok to die and ok to use the Limiter. See the video for reference, taken during training mode, which will not pop the trophy.

Later in the game, stage 4 onwards, there will be some powerups to collect that restore your shield. Collecting one will pop this trophy.


Master and Servant

Simply completing Stage 3, during any game mode or difficulty, will pop this trophy at the Mission Complete score stats screen. Very easy due to infinite continues.


Casual is a philosophy!
Casual mode clear.

Select Casual difficulty, for either Overkill mode or Original Mode, and complete the game for this trophy to pop. Very easy due to infinite continues.


I’m a trainee graduate!
Novice mode clear.

Select Novice difficulty, for either Overkill mode or Original Mode, and complete the game for this trophy to pop. Very easy due to infinite continues.


The world that turns around turns around
Rolling gun made 100 laps.

This trophy refers to the drone type gun that is attached to your ship. In Overkill mode you can control it like a twin stick shooter, whereas in the Original Mode it follows behind the ship in the direction the ship is flying, and can be locked into position by holding the square button. Allowing the Rolling Gun to rotate 360 degrees around the ship 100 times will pop this trophy. Very easy to achieve across all playthroughs required and will probably come naturally.
