Welcome to the trophy guide for Crystar. This can also be considered a walkthrough and may be used for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Steam. Achievements for Steam and Xbox are in almost all cases the same as the PlayStation 4 Trophies. A roadmap is provided in the stages below.

Follow us on twitter for the latest news and giveaways.

Stage 1 – Complete the game.

The first stage to Crystar is to beat the game. Crystar has no missable trophies, and all the trophies besides story are mostly cumulative or collective. Most of all the collective and cumulative will come naturally as they’re not hidden collectibles like other games, these collectibles come in forms of killing unique spawns. So don’t stress about anything, play the game and read the story and really take it all in.

After you complete the game you’ll unlock a special Boss Run ordeal. This will be the goal to start the next stage.

After completing the game your stats should be somewhere in this range:
Different Revenants found for memoirs: 80-90+
Level 50-60+
Memoir completing 70-80%+
Around 20-30h gameplay time.

The last bit to do is all farming, grinding, and collecting.

Very Helpful Tip: Almost all enemies and bosses are susceptible to being stun locked while being attacked. There’s a cooldown period between finishing your combo and restarting a 2nd combo. If you alternate between pressing square and R2, your dash will cancel the combo and allow you to instantly start up another. Meaning you’ll do an infinite combo with no cooldown. Highly exploitable.

Stage 2 – Clean-Up

The reason you’ll want to complete the game first is because the biggest trophy in Crystar is for completing the memoirs. A lot of the revenants are found in multiple different ordeals so it doesn’t make sense to farm one ordeal slowly picking off the revenants you need. It’s a lot more sensible after completing the game, going through and figuring what you’re missing and eliminating it that way.

Refer to the lists below for revenant locations, or strategies for the few remaining trophies you have.

There is a DLC that gives you higher chances of finding revenants. Though it’s not overly neccessary, only a few revenants are an annoying spawn namely the Cog ordeals revenants.

 CRYSTAR
Congratulations on collecting all the trophies.
Congratulations, thank you. Don’t forget to smile.

 Memoirs of the Dead, Complete
Completed the Memoirs of the Dead.
Don’t forget. It’s the very least I can do for killing them.

There are a total of 99 different memoirs to collect and you’ll need all 3 memoirs on them all. You will have to revisit lots of locations to gather all the bosses, rarer spawns, and it will be tedious. By completing the game you should have found at least 80+ Memoirs, if you explored the maps well. Below are most of the locations you can find them, a few could be in other maps but a lot of them, especially the End Point memoirs are only found in these ones.

A really helpful tip: All spawns have the potential of becoming a revenant. So instead of running entire ordeals looking for your missing memoirs, chck just the first floor. The enemy spawns are always the same location too! So rush in check it out, and go back to the mirror. Rinse and repeat. Some spawns like Marx or Grimm can take 10-20+ attempts to find.

 Panta Rhei
Received guidance of Alcea. All things flow. Night turned to dawn, tears turned to smiles, and sadness turned to happiness.

You’ll get this after watching the conclusion to the story. This comes after Mephistopheles defeat.

 Growth Limit
Achieved MAX level.
You work too hard…

In Crystar the MAX level is 99. This trophy will require grinding. Game completion puts you somewhere around level 50-60 depending on character and how much you killed. 60+ after you’ve collected all the memoirs. The easiest way to gain the final remaining levels is to run the Boss Ordeal that unlocks post-game. Every loop you advance increases the exp pool. So you’ll run this for a few hours to hit 99. Quit while you’re ahead though, dying in the boss ordeal will forfeit your gains.

 Revenant Completion
All Revenants registered onto Memoirs of the Dead.
I sympathize with their pasts, but I…

Contrary to this description, you only need to locate one of every revenant for this trophy. Though, it’d be silly to not kill them since you’re vying for completing the Memoirs of the Dead anyhow. Refer to ‘Memoirs of the Dead, Complete’ for locations of all the revenants.

 Fuse Limit
Fused a Sentiment to its limit.
This Sentiment makes me feel at peace.

Fusing sentiments in Crystar requires 2 pieces of the same equipment and the appropiate amount of materials. Fusing them upgrades the equipment strengthening it. Every piece of equipment can only be fused so many times before it maxes out though, that is what this trophy wants.

 Purgatory Walker
Clear all Ordeals.
I don’t want to know any more about this tragic world.

In Crystar there are 3 kinds of ordeals: Story, Optional, and a Boss Run. Optionals unlocks after completing each chapter and the boss run will unlock post-game. You’ll need to complete all the story ordeals, every optional ordeal, and a full loop of Boss Run.

 Developing
Reached level 50.
Obtain even greater heights of power.

Refer to ‘Growth Limit’ for more details.

 Happy Ending?
Received guidance from the Demons.
Ahaha, too bad! We’re happy though!

This is a story related ending you’ll recieve after the 3rd loop.

 Together forever?
Reaffirmed your sister’s love.
Forever and ever…even in death.

This is a story related trophy you’ll earn at the end of the 2nd Loop.

 All’s well?
Saved Mirai.
Have I…forgotten something important?

After the trophy ‘Attempted Retribution’ (The Plato battle), you’ll conclude Chapter 8. The end of Chapter 8 is where this trophy will pop.

 Tears of Bitterness
Purified 30 Torments.
I have to do this…so I can achieve my…

Refer to ‘Tears of Requiem’ for more details.

 Inflict Ailment
Gave an enemy a Status Ailment.
Let it haunt you, to the root of your Soul.

Inflicting Status Ailments is a common thing that you’ll do as the game goes on depending on your character. The earliest that you can achieve this is with Kokoro. She will learn a Skill Spell. Judgment Blade, that can inflict Confusion.

 Mini Catharsis
Defeated 5 enemies at the same time. Round ’em up!

There are multiple great ways to earn this trophy, one of the easiest way is with Rei. During II Garden of Vanity you’ll find multiple groups of Lewis’ type enemies that you can round up. They’ll be weak enough that a single use of Rei’s Art. Spin Slice will defeat them all.

Alternatively, when level 99 and overpowered returning to any lower ordeal and gathering a huge group of most enemies will do too.

 Purgatory Killer
Killed 100 enemies.
Don’t get in my way!

Refer to ‘Purgatory Reaper’ for more details.

 Purgatory Crusher
Killed 1000 enemies.
Now…who’s next?

Refer to ‘Purgatory Reaper’ for more details.

 Purgatory Reaper
Killed 5000 enemies.
I am the Executor Princess!

5000 enemies is a lot! By the time you complete the main game, you’ll likely be sitting around 2500 – 3000 enemies. As you return to previous bosses to pick up their memories, run the boss rush, etc. it’ll be smart to kill enemies on every run hopefully eliminating any grind at the end.

 Flawless Return
Defeat a boss without taking damage.
Hmhm! If you can’t hit me, there’s nothing to be scared of!

If you’re having trouble with this trophy, after reaching level 99 and having end game equipment return to I City in Between; Revenant Memories. The revenant Epicurean shouldn’t take more than a few hits to defeat.

If you’re playing naturally and carefully, Carneades is a very likely boss (The 2nd boss you’ll fight, he’s a mage) to get this on. He’ll summon enemies and use projectiles. You can lure the enemies around the statue and take care of them without interference. As for the boss’ projectiles, they’re horrendously slow. Run up do a combo and dash back, rinse and repeat.

 Where the Tears Lead
Purified a Torment.
This is so painful.

Refer to ‘Tears of Requiem’ for more details.

 Sugar Loading
Used 50 consumable items.
That’s a bit too much sugar…

Refer to ‘Sugar Overload’ for more details.

 Tears of Requiem
Purified 100 Torments.
Rest in peace…I’m sorry…

Torments are the collectibles that revenants drop when defeated, they contain the memoirs too. Purifying them is a feature that allows you to turn them into weapons, armors, or accessories. After your 100th purification this will pop. Unless you’re actively avoiding revenants, which you shouldn’t, this will come naturally before you beat the game by quite some time.

 Reaching the Limit
Collected max amount of Torments.
Please stop… this is too much…

Torments are the memoirs that the revenants drop. Rei can only hold a maximum of 10 at once, make sure to remember that as you can’t collect new ones if you’re full. It’s unlikely that you’ll have 10 torments at once if you’ve been converting them like you should after each ordeal. So you’ll have to get lucky in an optional ordeal, or just hold onto some and run a 2nd ordeal.

 Search for the Deceased
Completely unlocked one person’s Memoirs of the Dead.
I know all about your past.

Memoirs of the Dead are the collectibles that revenants drop. You’ll know them from their glowing aura. You’ll need to collect 3 memoirs from each unique revenant. In the beginning of Crystar the Ordeals have a low variety of enemies + the optional ordeals have more than enough of the same kind that this will come naturally.

 Sugar Intake
Used 10 consumable items.
I’m not too fond of sweets.

Refer to ‘Sugar Overload‘ for more details.

 Unending Impulse
Achieved a 100 chain.
I still want more.

Refer to ‘Wild Impulse’ for more details.

 Sugar Overload
Used 100 consumable items.
I think I’m starting to like it…

Consumable items in Crystar are set to auto-use by default, so you don’t even have to worry about this. The consumables are more than likely the types of chocolate you’ll consume to restore HP. Infrequently you can choose to use status items though. Chocolates and other items can be found from drops, chests, or bought from the store. Stay stocked and this will come naturally.

 Collector
Collected 10000 Essence.
Now isn’t the time to use these yet.

Refer to ‘Revelling in Riches’ for more information.

 Revelling in Riches
Collected 100000 Essence.
My purpose has become collecting Essence…

This trophy will come naturally. There will be no need to grind or be frugal with your essence. By end game, you’ll easily have 10x this amount.

 Dog Enthusiast
Pet Thelema 10 times.
Good girl.

Refer to ‘Dog Lover’ for more details.

 Wild Impulse
Achieved a 200 chain.
More… Tiny pieces..

200 may seem like a lot but it is relatively easy and you’ll attain this numerous times throughout your playthrough. Higher difficulties, like normal or higher allow bosses and enemies to have more hp making this more feasible. Some of the easiest enemies to earn this on are Bourbaki since they have multiple clones + their amount of hit points. Using Rei + her guardian allowing for x2 hit combo racking up combo’s really fast too. Alternatively you’ll easily attain this on multiple bosses too.

 Fuse Sentiment
Fused Sentiments for the first time.
I need to gather more Sentiments and become stronger.

Refer to ‘Mother of Sentiment Fusion’ for more details.

 Impulse
Achieved a 50 chain.
I can keep going.

Refer to ‘Wild Impulse’ for more details.

 The Blind Faithful
Defeated the subservient Revenants.
It is an honor to be defeated in her stead.

The ‘subservient Revenants’ this trophy talks of are Anamnesis’ minions. At the end of VI City in the Depths you’ll battle Bourbaki. These Bourbaki are the subservient Revenants.

 Beyond the Mirror
Voluntarily go to Purgatory.
All to save Mirai.

Purgatory is the world where Crystar takes place. The entirety of the games missions and everything takes place within Purgatory. Accessing Purgatory is done through your mirror, kind of like a gateway. Upon agreeing to take on the first Ordeal, this trophy will pop.

 Excellent Executor
Cleared an optional Ordeal for the first time.
I do like a hard worker.

Whenever you clear an entire chapters Ordeals you’ll gain access to the respective chapters optional ordeal. Optional ordeals are short and full of revenants, making it a great place to farm for less rare spawns and memoirs.

 Revenant Girl
Defeated the Revenant girl.
The glimpse of her past revealed an innocent little girl.

The Revenant Girl this trophy refers to is found at the end of I City in Between. In the final ordeal, Revenant Memories, you’ll fight a torment by the name of Epicurean. This revenant is the innocent little girl.

 Farewell
Bade farewell to the distorted past.
But they weren’t all bad memories.

The distorted past in this case refers to the end of II Garden of Vanity. At the end of this you’ll access the Ordeal Memories of Truth. This ordeal is where you’ll face Carneades for this trophy.

 Enforcing Justice
Defeated a starving Revenant.
There were many that couldn’t be saved. I must keep improving.

The Starving Revenant this trophy refers to is found at the end of III Cage Of Denunciation.

 Wild Hedonism
Played till the end.
That was fun! Let’s play again!

The ‘playing’ this trophy refers to is with a revenant by the name of Nanana. During IV Garden of Pleasure you’ll run into many occurrences with Nanana. At the end of these ordeals you’ll have to fight Epicurus. After the defeat of Epicurus, you’ll earn this trophy.

 Feelings Connected
Received feelings from a beloved family member.
Woof! Woof!

The ‘feelings’ this trophy talks of are from Thelema. At the end of V Foolish Question, Foolish Answer you’ll battle Therion. You’ll receive Thelema’s feelings after this battle.

 Sorry, but…
Released the soul of a broken friend.
You’re apologizing again. That’s a bad habit, you know.

The ‘broken friend’ this trophy talks of are Yuri Minano’s. At the end of VII Forest of Recollection: And Yet… you’ll battle Parmenides. You’ll receive the ‘soul’ after this battle.

 Sentiment Modification Addict
Transformed Sentiments 50 times.
I have a feeling I’ll get it on the next one! My faith is unfounded though!

Transforming sentiments means to Modify Sentiments, Whenever you purify torments you’ll get sentiments which come in the form of weapons, armor, or accessories. To modify sentiments you’ll need equipment that has ‘slots’ in them. Using material you’ll get a randomly generated bonus modifier bestowed upon it. After modifying your 50th sentiment this will pop.

It does not have to be 50 different pieces. You can modify the same piece 50 times.

 Attempted Retribution
Defeated Anamnesis.
This is the end of my revenge story.

The battle with Anamnesis is at the end of VIII Cogs of Renewal. At the end of End Point you’ll battle her transformation, Plato.

 The Revenant Princess
Defeated the Revenant Princess.
That’s strange. This isn’t the future I wished for.

At the end of the 2nd Loop, you’ll be back at VIII Cogs of Renewal. At the end of End Point II you’ll fight Aristotle, you’ll earn this trophy for its defeat.

 Good Living
Defeated the girl who lost sight of justice.
I can’t go back either…

The girl who loses sight of justice is Sen Megumiba. During one of the VIII Cogs of Renewal loops, you’ll be forced to fight her. After defeating her, you’ll earn this.

 Sister Talk
Received my younger sister’s feelings.
…Don’t lose to all these absurdities.

After your 3rd loop, you’ll start another loop. But instead of going back to Chapter 6, you’ll be brought to the Final Chapter. Here you’ll fight Kuon Hatada. After her defeat, you’ll earn this.

The Demise of Lies and Destruction
Defeated the root of all evil.
That means the true fools were…

During the final ordeal Pedestal of Torture; Ultimate Point you’ll face Mephistopheles. After it’s defeated you will obtain this.

 Adept of Sentiment Fusion
Fused Sentiments 5 times.
There is still power hidden within these Sentiments.

Refer to ‘Mother of Sentiment Fusion’ for more details.

 Mother of Sentiment Fusion
Modified Sentiments 30 times.
I can do this with that and…I know!

This trophy refers to the act of Fusing Sentiments. Whenever you purify torments you’ll get sentiments which come in the form of weapons, armor, or accessories. To fuse sentiments you’ll need 2 of the same equipment and the required materials. After the 30th fusion of your sentiments this trophy will pop.

 New to Sentiment Modification
Modified Sentiments 10 times.
It’s hard to make a good one.

Refer to ‘Sentiment Modification Addict’ for more details.

 Dog Lover
Doted on Thelema 53 times.
Good girl. The average height of a Samoyed is 53cm.

Doting Thelema 53 times means to pet her 53 times. One of the options in your games hub is ‘Thelema’ and cliking that will allow you to play with Thelema. Playing with Thelema 53 times will earn you this trophy.
