Welcome to SteamWorld Build! One final landrush! The planet is dyin’, Astrid, and it is dig or die trying! That mine under our town is sitting empty, and would not you know there are rumors of ancient tech down there that might help us out of this predicament. Round up the posse, circle the wagons, and let’s get to building a new home! Collect resources above ground and ores down below so we can get those wealthy bots in here to help us build bigger, and we can get the heck out of here! As your borders expand, new steamfolk will find their way to you! Every bot is crotchety in their own way, and it’s up to you to keep them steaming along. Barter to boost efficiency, keep goods flowing to and from the mines and keep everyone happy to make them work their darndest and hardest.

Stage 1 – Play the Story with the Tutorial Mode on Casual or Normal Difficulty.

Play any of the 5 available maps on Casual or Normal difficulty with the Tutorial Mode on. This playthrough will earn most trophies in the game as you learn how to mine resources, deal with enemies and threats, build and expand your population, and ultimately rebuild the escape rocket. Note: If you want more of a challenge, it is possible to play without the Tutorial Mode on, but you will have to figure out what to do on your own. If you did play this way then make sure not to build any turrets in this playthrough as this would reduce your number of full playthroughs needed to only two.

Stage 2 – Play the Game on Hard Difficulty.

Play any of the 5 available maps on Hard difficulty. For finishing the game once, you will be given a landmark that you can add to any playthrough that gives you an advantage to make it less difficult.
Note: It is not recommended to play this level of difficulty without using turrets as you will be constantly under siege mid to late game.

Stage 3 – Play the Game on Casual or Normal Difficulty (if needed).

Play any of the 5 available maps on Casual or Normal difficulty. For finishing the game once, you will be given a landmark that you can add to any playthrough that gives you an advantage to make it less difficult. This playthrough will focus on the more time consuming trophies (building roads, buying items from the store, and cutting down trees) and not using any turrets, thumpers are allowed though.

Platinum
All other trophies unlocked.

Congratulations on your shiny new platinum!

Steam Powered
Have 40 Refineries boosted by Steam.

When you have the Aristocrat tier unlocked, you will eventually be able to make a Steam Powered station. When you place one, it will make each of the refineries more efficient and the game will show you which refineries will be affected by the Steam Powered station’s placement. Continue to place Steam Powered stations in strategic locations so that you will eventually have 40 or more refineries boosted by Steam. See the pictures below for more information.

Interstellar Performance
Launch the Rocket on Hard Difficulty.

Play through the game on Hard difficulty to find all 6 rocket pieces, fuel the rocket, and end the game.

Note: As you get deeper in the mine levels, the enemies will be harder and appear more often. You can have up to 50 miners (miner, prospector, mechanic, and/or guards) per level in the mines so use them as needed. Find and buy upgrades for the miners. Another tip is to have the minimum number needed to dig up a rocket piece, enough to automate all the resources for the prospectors, 5 – 8 mechanics, and the rest to be guards. Also, build any machines that will detect threats and machines that will move the miners and the extracted resources to the elevator as efficiently and quickly as possible.

Gotta Go Fast
Have a Steambot boosted by Speed Vents for 15 seconds.

As you dig deeper in the mines and uncover more secrets, you will have access to Speed Vents. Have a Mechanic build 5 – 6 Speed Vents in a narrow pathway spread apart some. Make sure place this is a place where the Steambots will have to go through to get to a dig or resource extraction location so its recommended to not clear all the blocks in an area as you want narrow pathways that the Steambots will have to pass through.

Stack Overflow
Reach a surplus of 100 citizens for all tiers.

As you play the game, eventually you will have all 4 categories of the citizens available to you. You will need to have a surplus of 100 citizens for all the tiers at the same time in order to earn this trophy. You can move buildings around on the map and add more citizens for any of the categories if their needs are 100%. This is best done mid to late game as you will be able to make sure that you have the Scientist tier at a surplus of 100 citizens, then follow with the Aristocrats with a surplus of 100 citizens, then Engineers with a surplus of 100 citizens, and finally Workers with a surplus of 100 citizens. See the picture below for more information.

Yup.
Launch the rocket without building any turrets.

As you dig deeper in the mines, you will be able to build an Armory. There are 4 possible machines to build and the only one that is not a turret is called the Thumper used to kill the Worms. Do not build any of the other Armory items as they are all turrets. It is best to earn this on either Casual or Normal difficulty as the enemies and threats are more persistent and destructive on Hard difficulty. With this in mind, make sure to have about 40% or more of your miners to be Guards. You can upgrade Guards to also be able to dig, if you see it offered in the Train Station Shop.
Note: If you play with the Tutorial Mode on, there will be a point where the game directs you to build turrets. With version 1.0 of the game, there was no way to turn this off when you had selected the location of your map.

Room To Spare
Reach a Global Storage of 150.

Your base Inventory Storage is 50 when you start the game. As you dig deeper in the mine, you will want to fully search the entire area to find any resources and chests. Chests will appear as a blinking light when you are close to an area that is still dark. You will need to obtain the ability to dig up different block materials like Sandstone and Granite or have enough Guards to open a new section of the mine. You may even need to build bridges to get across to an area where there are chests. There are 2 types of chests – small (contain upgrades to miners, cash, or upgrades for refineries on the surface) or large (contain Inventory Storage upgrades or Blueprints for machines). Every mine level has Inventory Storage upgrades chests hidden within them so find all of them to max out your Inventory Storage at 150. There will be a Notification shown on the bottom right saying “Warehouse Inventory has increased”. Any item that is maxed out in your Inventory will show the maximum amount that you current have while playing the game. See the pictures below for more information.

Steaming Rich
Amass a fortune of 1.500.00.

During any playthrough, have a total of 1,500,000 at one time.

Roll Out
Connect 5 Extractors to a single Conveyor Belt network.

As you dig deeper in the mine, you will be able to find a chest with a Blueprint for the Conveyor Belt. You will also need to have built at least 5 Extractors for resources on this mine level. Next you will need to build a Conveyor Belt network that goes from each Extractor to a the Conveyor Belt and ultimately have them end at the Elevator for this mine level. There are tiny blue hash marks that the Conveyor Belt must be built on in order for it to be a part of the Conveyor Belt network. See the picture below for more information.

Up, Up And Away!
Launch the Rocket.

You will earn this trophy the first time that you extract all 6 pieces of the Rocket, fill the Rocket tank, and then launch the Rocket.

Accustomed Customer
Buy 100 Items from the Store across all playthroughs.

Buy any 100 items from the Train Station Store across any number of playthroughs. The items that you can buy include: Upgrades for the Miners, Prospectors, Mechanics, and Guards; Upgrades for Refineries; Exchange Money for Gold; and Exchange Money for Rubies. There are 3 of these items available at one time and the store refreshes every 4:45 when the Train comes into the Station. See the pictures below for more information.

I’m A Lumberbot
Chop down 50.000 trees across all playthroughs.

Across multiple playthroughs, you can build Forester machines to cut down trees. Each map has a different amount of trees available in them. It is important to place down the Foresters in the early to mid game as you will be using a lot of Lumber to expand and build your City. These machines are almost set and forget machines as they will continue to operate constantly. You can also place upgrades on them that you find or buy from the Store to increase the rate and/or amount of trees being cut down. This trophy is a time consuming one so build many and as early as possible in all playthroughs. Once you have cut down 50,000 trees you will earn this trophy. Note: There is a percentage counter attached to this trophy when you check its status.

Click ‘Em All
Click 100 Tumbleweeds across all playthroughs.

Tumbleweeds look like balls of metal with tiny yellow sparks flying off of them. They can appear anywhere on the map of the City, however they are usually on the outskirts and not inside the denser areas where buildings are located. There is usually 3 – 4 of them in every cycle of the Train coming to the Station and then arriving again in 4:45. If you do not collect them, they will not accumulate on the map. The Tumbleweeds can contain resources, money, gold, and rubies. In the early part of the game, you will especially want to be collecting as many as you can so that you can build and buy the items that you need to succeed. Collect 100 across multiple playthroughs to earn this trophy.

Nothing But Road
Build 100km of Roads across all playthroughs.

When you through the game and unlock the different tiers of citizens, you will have access to different types of roads. There are 3 types of roads that cost and may require different materials. The cheapest and easiest roads to build are the dirt roads. This trophy will probably be one of the last trophies for you to earn in the game as road building to obtain 100km across multiple playthroughs is time consuming. It is recommended to use your Casual or Normal difficulty playthrough where you have successfully launched the rocket. You can load up this save and then use an area that is not developed to cover the area in dirt roads. Then use the function to destroy these roads and repeat. Continue with this method until you have earned this trophy.
Note: You will be required to place down 33,334 distance of roads as shown on your PS5 Trophy section.

Real Purdy
Build 100 decorations across all playthroughs.

As you play the game you will unlock more and more decorations that you could potentially add to your City. You can earn this quickly by placing a low cost item 100 times within your City.

Botropolis
Have 2000 Citizens in your City.

You will earn this trophy during any playthrough as soon as you have 2000 Citizens in your City. Most likely this will occur late game when you have used up the majority of the maps’ available space to develop. Continue to add Workers (cheapest) to Scientists (most expensive) and ensure that there satisfaction rating is 100%. The more satisfied the Citizens are, the more their populations will go up. There are sometimes upgrades available in the Train Store that you can buy that give bonus Citizen numbers to also increase your City’s population.

Whoa!
Teleport a Miner 100m.

When you dig deeper in the mines, you will be able to collect a Blueprint from a large chest that will allow you to build Teleport pads. You will need to have at least one Mechanic miner on the mine level. Teleport pads will be built in a pair. It is recommended to place one near the Elevator in the mine and the other far away (100 squares away at least). Each square in the game is 1m in length. As soon as a miner uses the Teleport and if the pads are 100m away from each other you will earn this trophy. Otherwise move the pads further apart from each other.

Digging a Hole
Repair the Mineshaft.

At the start of the game, as you are building your City, you will need to increase your population and have certain resources collected in your Inventory to be able to repair the Mineshaft. As soon as you repair the Mineshaft you will earn this trophy.

Dopa-Miner
Open 50 Chests across all playthroughs.

Across multiple playthroughs you will find and open any 50 small and large chests that are inside the mine levels of the game. Each level of the mines will have multiple chests available, however the larger chests are rarer. When you open a chest it will have a random benefit inside of it. See the “Room To Spare” trophy for more information.

Conducted Trade
Complete a Trade at the Train Station.

Once you have fixed the Train Station, you will be able to set up trades. You can have up to 5 trades that will constantly happen each 4:45 cycle of the Train coming and going to your Train Station. You can update, make new, or delete trades as you like. The game will notify you if Trades do not go through, however, you will need to check your Inventory to determine what trade(s) did not happen and alter as needed. Trading is a great way to obtain resources or gold if you are in need. You will earn this trophy as soon as you make your first trade at the Train Station.

Manic Mechanic
Build every Machine.

There are 14 Machines to build in the game. There is a counter on the trophy listed in your PS5 Trophy section.

These Machines are:

Tutti Frutti
Have Miners, Prospectors, Mechanics and Guards on the same mine floor.

In the second mine level, you will have access to all 4 types of workers in the mines. You will need to build the quarters for each type so that you will have at least one of each of them appear in this level of the mine.

It’s Yours, My Friend
Buy something from the Store.

Once you have repaired the Train Station, the Store that it contains will be available. There are upgrades to buildings and the quarters of the miners, prospectors, mechanics, and guards. There could also be Gold or Rubies that you can buy with your money. Once you buy your first item, you will earn this trophy.

Aristocratic
Reach the Aristocratic Citizen Tier.

The Aristocratic Citizen Tier is the third level tier of citizens in your City. They require the Engineer Citizen Tier as they will overtake their house. Aristocrats have some common requirements as Engineers for their satisfaction rating, but the majority of their requirements will require you to build new buildings that supply the items that they need to be satisfied.

Mathematic
Reach the Engineer Citizen Tier.

The Engineer Citizen Tier is the second level tier of citizens in your City. They require the Worker Citizen Tier as they will overtake their house. Engineers have some common requirements as Workers for their satisfaction rating, but the majority of their requirements will require you to build new buildings that supply the items that they need to be satisfied.

Mine Sweeper
Defeat 1000 Enemies across all playthroughs.

Across multiple playthroughs, in the bottom two mine levels, you will encounter enemies. These enemies can be killed by your Guards and/or any Turrets that you build after making an Armory. Your guards and turrets will automatically fight and kill for you. You do not need to watch them. However, on the Hard difficulty, you may need to increase the number of guards and mechanics if your mine is becoming overwhelmed by enemies killing your NPCs and destroying your excavators, quarters, and Armory items. You will earn this trophy once you have killed your 1000th enemy.

Going Places
Excavate the first Rocket Part.

There are 3 mine levels with 2 Rocket Parts per level for a total of 6 Rocket Parts in the game to find and extract to fix the Rocket. You will earn this trophy in the first mine level once you extract your first found Rocket Part.

Slotting Machine
Have 20 Items slotted into buildings or quarters.

On the City Surface level, you can slot an upgrade that is applicable to any building that is refining, storing, or making a resource that the Citizens need to eat or complete their tasks. In the Mines the miners, prospectors, mechanics, and guards also have quarters for living and they can have upgrades that can be slotted into them. When you click on any of these buildings and quarters in your game, you can see how many and what upgrades have been slotted in them. Once you have slotted in any combination on 20 different buildings and/or quarters you will earn this trophy.

Systematic
Reach the Scientist Citizen Tier.

The Scientist Citizen Tier is the fourth and highest level tier of citizens in your City. They require the Aristocrat Citizen Tier as they will overtake their house. Scientists have some common requirements as Aristocrats for their satisfaction rating, but the majority of their requirements will require you to build new buildings that supply the items that they need to be satisfied.
