  • I Don’t See Your Ship – Sink another ship
  • Tactical Chunder – Throw vommit on an enemy wielding a sword

  • Ignoring the Rules of Engagement – Kill somebody with a blunderbuss from behind
  • Friends Not Foe – Salute somebody with the “Pirate salute” gesture
  • You Can Always Trust the Untrustworthy – Sell a stolen captain’s chest

Furthermore there are many other trophies that can be earned playing with your own crew, without the need to interact with other ships. These include becoming a pirate Legend. This has you level 3 out of the 5 available Trading companies (Emmisaries) to level 50.

Pirate Perfectionist
Become the Pirate Perfectionist.

Become Pirate Legend
Become a Pirate Legend.

In order to become a pirate legend, you’ll need to become level 50 in 3 emissaries.
Your choices are:
1. Merchant [MA]
2. Order of Souls [OOS]
3. Gold Hoarder [GH]
4. Reaper
5. Hunters Call [HC]

You will gain levels by completing missions from that emissary and raising the emissary flag. As you gain levels, you’ll need to buy promotions at each emissary to level up your levels to 50. Speak to the NPC in front of each stand, and you can upgrade your levels by pressing promotion. You can view your current levels by going into the menu and pressing reputation.

A summary of each emissary is as followed:

Merchant
You’ll sail the sea looking for lost shipments. Follow clues to find your key to a sunken ship. Towards the end you’ll find the sunken ship, and you’ll be able to open up the captain quarters. Pick up all the loot and you’ll be a rich pirate!

Loot includes: Cannonball/Wood and Food crates, Tea, Spices, Minerals, Kegs (of all sorts) and so on
Great World Events: Non

Order of Souls
You’ll be fighting skeleton captains on ships or on land! Complete these quests, and you will be able to find yourself skulls which can be sold for a good amount of coins!

Loot includes: Skulls of all sorts
Great World Events: Ashen Winds, Ghost Fleet

Gold Hoarder
For the gold hoarder, you can pick from two quest types; Either “Mark the spot” where you will need to dig up treasure on islands! The other option is an ancient vault! Find clues on islands and find yourself a vault key! Now go to that vault and ransack the place! Solve the riddle and get yourself an awesome chest!

Loot includes: Chests
Great World Events: Fleet of Fortune, Fleet, Fort

Reaper
The Reaper is intended to kill other pirate ships and steal their loot. You can sell anything you stole at the reaper hide-out, which is located at i12. If you don’t really like killing other pirates, you can do any quest you like and still sell your loot at the hideout. Emissary flags are the best loot available, certainly at max level (5) and will greatly increase your overall level!

Loot Includes: Everything
Great World Events: Ashen Winds, Ghost Fleet, Fleet of Fortune, Fleet, Fort, Fort of Fortune, Fort of the Damned

Hunters Call
The hunters Call focus on fishing. You can only sell fish, Megalodon meat, shark meat and kraken meat at any sea post. Mermaid gems are also accepted. It’s NOT recommended to level this up as part of your pirate legend.

Loot includes: Fish
Great World Events: None

Athena is the final faction that you will unlock upon becoming a pirate legend. This trading company has some cool cosmetics, so make sure to level it up too, there are a few bronze trophies tied to it.

Laden With Treasure
Have 20 chests in your crew’s possession… at the same time!

This one is pretty straight forward. You can complete any quest and you will be rewarded loot. This may be skulls, chests or spices as it doesn’t really matter for this trophy. Don’t sell until you have 20 or more, which shouldn’t be that hard.

You Can Always Trust the Untrustworthy
Cash in a stolen Captain’s Chest.

A captain chest can be found almost anywhere. So it shouldn’t be too hard to find a friendly (or enemy) ship and ask them nicely (with a cannonball or two) to for a captain’s chest.

I’ll Drink to That
Enjoy a tankard of grog with another crew at an Outpost.

There are multiple outposts within the game, those being:
A) Port Merrick [D10]
B) Sanctuary Outpost [F7]
C) Plunder Outpost [JK18]
D) Dagger Tooth Outpost [M8]
E) Ancient Spire Outpost [Q17]
F) Galleon’s Grave [R8]
G) Morrow’s Peak Outpost [V17]

You’ll have to encounter a friendly crew at one of these outposts, and ask them to sit down with you and have a nice grog! The grog can be found in your equipment wheel.

In Good Company
Upgrade a Trading Company item to its maximum.

An item can include a spying glass or a pocket watch for example (Merchant). As you gain levels, you will be upgrade these items to a better looking variant. For other emissaries, you can upgrade different items.

Kraken Good Job
Be victorious in a Kraken encounter and live to tell the tale!

A kraken is a negative world event. World events spawn at random throughout your server. Only a single one is active at the same time.
You’ll notice them by their presence within the sky. If any crew clears a world event, there will be a small window where no world event is active.
During this time, a kraken may spawn on any ship within the server.

An important condition is that the ship must be in open waters, meaning not near any island or large rock. A kraken will scale with your ship and crew size. A sloop will kill a kraken easier than a galleon, as the kraken will have more HP.

A kraken consists out of multiple tentacles that you will need to kill. You can do so by shooting your cannons and guns (pistol and sniper are most effective).

That’s ‘Captain’, Mate…
Set Sail as Captain of Adventure for the first time

You’ll need to buy your very own vessel from the main menu. Select “My ships” and you’ll be able to purchase your own. Do note that these are expensive for new players, as they are around 250.000 gold each. You may pick a Sloop, Brigantine, or a Galleon. Recommended is a Sloop or Brigatine if you have a couple of friends. You may own up to 25 ships.

Bone-Cronch
Kill a skeleton while it’s ‘cronching’ on a banana.

Skeletons may appear on any island, and certainly during an Order of Souls quest. Depending on your crew size, they may take 2–4 hits to be defeated. Hit the skeleton 2 times, and it will try to heal itself with a banana. As it eats this banana, kill it with your sword and this trophy is yours!

A Titanic Ensemble
Give your ship a Captain’s send-off by playing a song aboard it while it sinks.

When somebody shoots your ship, it will take holes. If you are unable to fix these holes, your ship will fill up with water. If the water levels rise too high, your ship will sink. While it sinks, equip yourself with any of the available instruments and play a nice tune.

Dead Pirates DO Tell Tales
Use Pirate Chat to communicate with another dead pirate on the Ferry of the Damned.

As you die, you will be transported to the Ferry of the Damned. This is a shared place where all dead pirates spawn within that specific server.
Hold R1 and select any chat, unlocking this trophy.

Hold My Grog!
Launch yourself from a ship’s cannon onto another ship.

You can load yourself into a cannon on your own ship. Find yourself another ship and shoot yourself onto their deck. This may take some practice.

I Don’t See Your Ship
Take part in the sinking of another crew’s ship.

Sink any other pirate ship. This doesn’t count for NPC ships. You may use your cannons to inflict damage. You can also find yourself a stronghold keg and blow them up that way. Be creative in sinking your enemies!

I’m On A Whole New Adventure
Vote for and begin a voyage put forward by one of your crew.

On each ship is a table where you can start missions. Interact with the table and vote down any mission of your liking. If you are playing with multiple people, a majority of the people need to vote for that voyage.

When You’re a Professional Pirate
Earn 10 Commendations.

There are thousands of commendations to be earned within the Sea of Thieves, and they may all be viewed from the reputation menu. Each emissary has their own commendations. There are also commendations for specific things, such as the “Fort of the Damned”, “Crew of Rage” and many more. It’s easiest if you stick to the default ones from the emissaries. Those includes earning gold for each, and selling specific chests.
Do note that each commendation has five graves [I, II, III, IV, V]. Unlocking level I counts towards a commendation.

Tactical Chunder
Throw vomit on an opposing pirate while they’re wielding a sword.

In order to pull this of, we will need to couple of things:
1. Raw meat or worms or a lot of grog in order to vommit
2. A player from a different crew
3. Your bucket

Eat some worms or drink some grog. This will make you puke. Catch your own puke with your bucket. Have the other crew mate hold their sword. Now throw your bucket with vommit onto them, gross!

Now Bring Me That Horizon
Set sail for the first time

Set sail for the first time, pirate!

Full Billow
Sail with all sails fully to the wind.

For this you’ll need to set the sail angles of your ship. When doing this, you’ll notice wind blowing. You will need to allign the sails of your ship into the wind. This is only possible if the wind is coming from behind you, or from the sides.

A sloop has 1 sail, a brig has 2 sails and a galleon has 3 sails.

Handbrake Turn
Change course by dropping anchor while the ship’s wheel is at full lock.

Turn the wheel all the way left or right, untill you can go no further. Now have somebody drop the anchor and your ship will do a nice anchor turn.

I Wanna Be a Pirate!
Increase your reputation level with a Trading Company for the first time.

Once you start sailing, you’ll need to choose any trading company (emmisarry) that you will be leveling. As mention before, you can level Gold Hoarder, Merchant, Reaper of Order of Souls. Raise the emmisary flag and start doing missions for it.
