Welcome to the trophy guide for New Tales from the Borderlands. This can also be considered a walkthrough and may be used for PlayStation 4, 5, Xbox One, Series X and Steam. Achievements for Steam and Xbox are in almost all cases the same as the PlayStation 4/5 Trophies. A roadmap is provided in the stages below.

Stage 1 – Play all 5 Episodes getting the 80 Skateboard ranking.
Welcome to the guide for New Tales from the Borderlands. Before starting, know that there are 5 endings you will have to view for the “You Played This Before?” trophy. Additionally, while the good ending requires a score of 75 Skateboards, you will need to get a score of at least 80 to unlock “New Business”. Skateboards are awarded for passing Quick-time Event events, and for creating good team spirit. If you get a response that feels like it negatively impacted your score quickly exit back out to the main menu and reload your save.
Episode 1
Trophy “Who Needs Keys” Story related. As Anu, when working on the gun, slap it to get it to work.
Trophy “Totally Intentional Fail” Fail a Quick-time Event.
As Anu, during the hostile takeover, hug Phuong and she will give you her Vaultlander “Not Dolls. Action Figures!” 1/16 and Trophy “Each Sold Separately”.
Octavio: In Chapter 3 – Background Check Scan Lou, Paco, Diamond Danielle and Radon by pressing Circle. 1, 2 and 3/6 Trophy “Super Trusting Friend!”
Claptrap figure – After finding Juniper but before you hack the radio, find the Claptrap in some trash opposite of Pacos location. Vaultlander Trophy “Not Dolls. Action Figures!” Trophy 2/16.
Trophy “We’re In” – Story Related. Hack the radio.
Amara figure – As Fran, interact with the debris in the diner Vaultlander “Not Dolls. Action Figures!” 3/16
As Anu, after shooting a few Tediore guards, one will hold you up. Select dialogue option Square – “I wish I ate more tacos.” when you are prompted with a dialogue choice. Trophy “Mas, Por Favor”.
As Anu, when with Stapleface, you will get attacked by three Psychos. One will jump on you and strangle you. Fail the Quick-time Event Trophy “Tale in the toilet”.
Episode 2
Zane figure “Not Dolls. Action Figures!” 4/16 – unmissable in Chapter 3. As Octavio, beat Badass Superfan Use Claptrap for Trophies “Murderous Mascot Mayhem” and “Don’t Get Cocky” Badass Superfan Trophy “And Still Champion…” 1/6.

Vasquez figure “Not Dolls. Action Figures!” 5/16 – As Anu, open the fridge in the diner and beat Badass Superfan 2/6 Trophy “And Still Champion…” 2/6.

Roland figure “Not Dolls. Action Figures!” 6/16 – As Anu when in the morgue, open the cold locker beat Badass Superfan Trophy “And Still Champion…” 3/6.

Trophy “Nail a perfect, sexy dance.” Complete the Quick-time Event as Fergus by pressing left and right.
Maya figure “Not Dolls. Action Figures!” 7/16 – As Anu, pick the figure up from the table.
Brick figure “Not Dolls. Action Figures!“ 8/16 – As Fran, in the diner open the Car Trunk defeat Badass Superfan Trophy “And Still Champion…” 4/6.
Mordecai figure “Not Dolls. Action Figures!” 9/16 – As Fran, open the cash register in the diner to find the figure.
Moze figure “Not Dolls. Action Figures! 10/16 – As Fran, during the story you will have to defeat Badass Superfan Trophy “And Still Champion…” 5/6.

Episode 5
Trophy “Bring Back the Butt!” During the retro battle select Skill and then Assist to summon the Sexy Intern.
Trophy “Those were the days” – Story related.
Handsome Jack figure “Not Dolls. Action Figures!” 11/16. As Octavio interact with the Vaultlander figure on the floor then win the battle. Badass Superfan 6/6 Trophy “And Still Champion…”.
As Octavio, Scan Fran, Brock, and Lou13 Trophy “Super Trusting Friend!”.
Kreig figure “Not Dolls. Action Figures!” 12/16. As Octavio, choose option “Let’s make a deal”, then tackle her. Then Stapleface will give you the figurine.
Trophy “Not Dolls. Action Figures! 13, 14, 15 and 16 /16 – After completing the game, you will unlock Lilith and Ellie if you have Sis ’n Bro above 50% and Frogurt ’n Tacos above 50% Fiona + Zero will unlock if you have a Skateboard rating above 75% and Brain ’n Brawn. However, these will not all unlock at once. Even though all prerequisites were met, they will unlock the second time the game was completed.
Trophy “…To Heroes” – Story related..
Trophy “Hey Thanks” Watch the credits to the end.
Stage 2 – Remaining 4 endings and Money grind.
In Stage 2 you will need to replay the game to unlock the remaining 4 endings.
Best Ending – Finish with a skateboard rating of over 75 and with good relationships (80 for the trophy “New Business”).
Good Ending – Finish with a skateboard rating below 75 with good relationships, all characters survive but LOU13 dies.
Octavio dies.
Anu dies.
Fran dies.
Finally you will need to farm any remaining money for the Replay Episode 5 Chapter 4 and pick up all of the money, make sure the game saves your progress by purchasing an item or move onto the next chapter and repeat until you have bought all of the items for the Trophies “You’re Not Naked”and “Okay, Vain Much?”

Finish the game with a good skateboard rating.
You will need to finish the game with at least a skateboard rating of 80. To do this you need to pass all Quick-time Events and promote a good team spirit with your dialogue choices.
Not Dolls. Action Figures!
Collect every Vaultlander figure.
Episode 1: Chapter 3 – Phuong. As Anu, hug Phuong and she will give you a Vaultlander figure.
Episode 1: Chapter 3 – Claptrap. As Octavio, before fixing the radio pick up the Claptrap figure from by the trash.
Episode 1: Chapter 3 – Amara. As Fran interact with the rubble twice.
Episode 2: Chapter 3 – Zane. Story related, as Octavio win the Vaultlander battle.
Episode 3: Chapter 2 – Vasquez. As Anu, open the fridge and then win the Vaultlander battle.
Episode 3: Chapter 6 – Roland. As Anu, open the cold locker and then win the vaultlander battle.
Episode 4: Chapter 4 – Maya. As Anu, pick up the figure from the table.
Episode 4: Chapter 4 – Brick. As Fran, interact with the car trunk then win the vaultlander battle.
Episode 4: Chapter 4 – Mordecai. As Fran, interact with the cash register.
Episode 4: Chapter 4 – Moze. Story related. As Fran, win the Vaultlander battle.
Episode 5: Chapter 4 – Handsome Jack. As Octavio interact with the Vaultlander figure on the floor then win the battle.
Episode 5: Chapter 4 – Kreig. As Octavio choose option Let’s make a deal, then tackle her. Then Stapleface will give you the figurine.
After completing the game, you will unlock Lilith and Ellie if you have Sis ’n Bro above 50% and Frogurt ’n Tacos above 50% Fiona + Zero will unlock if you have a Skateboard rating above 75% and Brain ’n Brawn. However, these will not all unlock at once. Even though all prerequisites were met, they will unlock the second time the game was completed.
Okay, Vain Much?
Obtain every cosmetic.
Throughout the game, you will find money which you can exchange for clothing. There are booths that are a bit like photobooths in certain areas where you can purchase clothing or you can purchase them from the main menu. You will need 114, 250 in total to purchase everything and you should have around 50-60,000 after completing the game.
A good place to farm the rest of the money is in Episode 5 Chapter 4 as there is a lot of money in the lab. To save the money you farm here, purchase any of the clothing items.
You’re Not Naked
Obtain a cosmetic item.
Throughout the game, you will find money which you can exchange for clothing. There are booths that are a bit like photobooths in certain areas where you can purchase clothing or you can purchase them from the main menu. The cheapest items are 1000.
Each Sold Separately
Obtain a Vaultlander figure.
In Episode 1: Chapter 3 – Phuong. As Anu, hug Phuong and she will give you a Vaultlander figure.
Don’t Get Cocky
Win a Vaultlanders battle.
Story related. In Episode 2 as Octavio, you will encounter and need to beat Badass Superfan for the first time. Use Claptrap found in episode 1 for Trophy “Murderous Mascot Mayhem”.
And Still Champion…
Win every Vaultlanders battle.
In total there are 6 Vaultlander battles.
Episode 2 – Chapter 3 Unmissable. As Octavio, beat Badass Superfan.
Episode 3 – Chapter 2 As Anu, open the fridge while in the diner and beat Badass Superfan.
Episode 3 – Chapter 6 As Anu when in the morgue, open the cold locker and beat Badass Superfan.
Episode 4 – Chapter 4 As Fran, open the car trunk of the car in the diner.
Episode 4 – Chapter 4 Unmissable. As Fran, beat Badass Superfan.
Episode 5 – Chapter 4 As Octavio, try to pick up the Vaultlander figure from the X on the floor

Win a Vaultlanders battle using the Claptrap figure.
In Episode 1, when helping Paco, make sure to pick up the Claptrap figure from by the bins.
Then in Episode 2 as Octavio, you will encounter and need to beat Badass Superfan for the first time. Use Claptrap and beat him.

View every ending.
There are five endings
Best Ending – Finish with a skateboard rating of over 75 and with good relationships (80 for the trophy “New Business”).

There are 7 background checks you will need to perform.
In Episode 1 Chapter 3 when playing as Octavio the game will encourage you to do background checks perform them on Lou, Paco, Diamond Danielle and Radon. Make sure to do this before hacking the radio.
In Episode 5 Chapter 4 once you get a new scanning device, scan Fran, Brock and Lou13 again.

Win the retro battle.
Story related. In Episode 5, Fran will have a retro battle against her anger management robot.
Bring Back the Butt!
Summon the Sexy Intern.
In Episode 5, Fran will have a retro battle against her anger management robot. Choose Ability and then Assist to summon the Sexy Intern.
