Randomly activated events and changing puzzles throughout the game assures a higher level of replayability as you get lost in this immersive and terrifying experience. Watch every step you make and be careful not to attract any unwanted attention. You will not be alone.

Stage 1 – Play through the story on Normal.

Play through the story on Normal difficulty. This playthrough will focus on getting all the collectibles, learning the layout of the game areas, and taking as many photos as possible.

Stage 1 Walkthrough
Stage 1 Walkthrough

Notes:
1. The photos indicated in this walkthrough are the bare minimum in order to keep the number at 40 or less.
2. All puzzles will change every playthrough; this includes codes, combinations, location of items, and where items are found, except for the red and blue collectible photos.

Start of the Game
-Move the Television to the left, go to the couch and pick up the Door Knob, and the Sunbox in front of the couch.
-Turn the Television back to the right so the boarded up doorway is lit up. Use the Door Knob on the side wall white Cabinet door. Open it and obtain the Hammer.
-Use the Hammer to remove the boards from the blocked doorway. Go through this pathway and into the hallway in the house.
-Walk all the way left and turn around to go back down the hallway to interact with the plaid cover. A door in the hallway will open. Inside here interact with the photo on the table. Always remember to rotate all items so you see the back too! Pick up the gift box and obtain Luca’s Camera. Obtain the portrait off the wall above the table. Take a photo (Photo 1) of the chair surrounded by candles. Next, look through the hole in the wall where the portrait was.
-Go back into the hallway to the left and try to place the portrait on the wall above a small table. You will need a Nail, which you will get by going back down the hallway and removing the plaid cover again. This time there will be a grandfather clock stuck at a certain time. There is a Nail that is preventing the clock hand from moving, collect this Nail. Use the Nail to hang the portrait. Take a photo (Photo 2) of the hung portrait.
-Turn around and enter through the door that appeared. To the right are 3 Newspaper clippings to interact with. Near the Television on the left is a Matchbox that you will interact with to obtain a Red Storage Safe Key. Go through the door into a small room with a Red Storage Safe (for your inventory management) and use the Key to open it. Place the Sunbox inside and take out Luca’s Notebook and Tape 1. Leave this room and then enter the next room through the door that just opened. Inside the Dining Room try to use it to play Tape 1.
-The power will go out, and the emergency red lights will be on. Go past the table where the phone is and into the next hallway. To the left is the grandparents’ bathroom, and to the right is the grandparents’ locked bedroom. Go inside the bathroom and interact with the mirror above the sink. Make sure to rotate to see the backside. Back in the hallway go left to the corner and go downstairs. In the Generator Room interact with the side switch puzzle (random every time, some up and others down, repeat until it works) and then interact with the Generator. When the lights are on continue to go further into the basement and turn to the right and at the end of this long pathway is a shelf. Obtain the Planets 1 Medallion and then go back upstairs.
-Follow the hallway to go past the Clock room door, the Livingroom, and then down the hallway to get to the Kitchen. Look through all the lower and upper cupboards. There is a Triangular Key 1 near the stove/cupboard. Go back to where the Grandfather Clock was to the locked door that was behind it. Use this key on the door to open the first of two locks on it. Head back to the Newspaper Clippings room and take a photo (Photo 3) of the Satanic Symbol Diagram on the wall.

Red Door in Basement
-You will have had a demonic moment and then cued to look in your Notebook at the new image of a Red Door. This is in the Basement so make your way into it and keep following the pathway through the broken and narrow areas. Go into the super dark area and then turn right to finally see the Red Door. Try to open it. Take a photo (Photo 4) of the Red Door. You can now enter and obtain the Shovel on the right of the lit pathway. Try to open the locked Well with the Shovel. Do not pick up the broken Shovel.
-Look in your inventory at your photos you have taken so far. Find the Satanic Symbol Diagram and use the symbols on it in the closer circles on the 3 locks (these symbols will change every playthrough). The 3 locks will open. Take a photo (Photo 5) of the lid on the well. Go down the ladder and into the next flooded room to where the 4 pillars are. Obtain the Moonbox near one of the pillars. Turn around and try to go back the way you came. Pick up the Police Radio and then go back to the area of the 4 pillars. During this part there will be a strong audio signal that you will need to locate and your Police Radio light will flash rapidly when you have found the correct spot. Take a photo (Photo 6). This will repeat a few times (Photo 7 and 8). Then there will be a police officer’s account of the events that happened in this room. There will be radio static and then you will need to find the strongest audio signal again. Take another photo (Photo 9) from this spot. You will then be surrounded by red doors, open all of them and after they close look for the one that has bugs coming out underneath it. Take a photo (Photo 10) of this red door. Exit back into the basement and go back to the main floor.

Back in the House (First Time)
-You will have had a demonic moment and then cued to look in your Notebook at the new image of a Red Attic Door. This attic door is in the hallway between the Kitchen and Livingroom. Interact with the unfolding attic ladder to gain access and go up into the attic. Inside interact with the photo on the small table and rotate this photo. You will need to hang 4 portraits on the walls in this room. On the far wall below the window is an opening that when you look through you will see the number 43. Turn around and walk toward the broken bed frame and there is a Heart Key on a pillar. Take this key and go back downstairs.
-Go back down the hallway to the grandparents’ bedroom. Use the Heart Key to open the door. Inside open the wardrobe to the right of the bed to find Elizabeth’s (grandmother’s) diary. In the left nightstand there is a page that you can interact with to see what was happening to the grandmother’s health. In the right wardrobe there are a few Slides to collect. Go into the bathroom and at the mirror is the Planet Puzzle for the 3 Medallions (one is currently already in the puzzle). Leave the grandparent’s bedroom and go to the Livingroom where a door opens. Enter the hallway and obtain Tape 2 from the floor. Continue down the hallway and enter the door that you can open. Go through and into the large room to interact with the Slide Projector. Insert the Slides, and then go through each as Luca says something about some of them. Then reverse the order of them. Go up near the screen and find a photo on the wall, interact with it and rotate to see the backside. When the slides are flipping crazily, you will need to take a photo (Photo 11) of the spiral circle that appears, this will change into a Planets 2 Medallion which you will collect.
-Now proceed to continue past the shelves toward the red light and enter the room on the left. This is the grandfather’s office with a Green (Clock puzzle piece inside) and a Red (Johnny’s Key (dad’s childhood bedroom)) Safe inside. There is also an oval shaped portrait to collect from the wall. (If you run out of inventory space then go back to the Red Storage Safe to take/store items.)
-Go to the Dining Room and listen to Tape 2. Once a tape is played, take it out of the tape player and put it in the Red Storage Safe.
-Go back to the grandparents’ bedroom to the bathroom inside to the Planet Puzzle. The order of the planets will change each playthrough. Place the 2 Medallions on the puzzle, you may need to take the one already there and move it to a different spot. Then use the buttons below to rotate the medallions, you will know when you have the correct placements when you hear a noise and then it will reveal a boarded up doorway outside of the washroom. Use the Hammer to remove the boards. Collect the hexagonal shaped portrait and open the wall cabinet behind it and interact with the item inside.
-Go back to the attic and start placing the portraits on the walls. The diamond shaped portrait is on the left side of the bedframe behind a piece of wood. The square portrait is already on the wall. You can take photos of where the portraits are to be hung to reveal a number on the developed photo you take, but if you are trying to use the least amount of film, then do a guest and check method. You will put up the portraits and then look through the wall opening to see if 43 is visible or a door. Keep repeating until it is a door. After the cutscene, go through the crack, and to the left will be a Lighter on the table. Enter through the door into the Tunnels.

Tunnels, Graveyard, and Church
-The tunnels will have pathways that loop around to dead ends or back to the main pathway. You will go forwards and turn left at the first split. Go down the tunnel and you will start to hear “Luca” being called out to. From this tunnel you will take the right tunnel, then take the right tunnel again, and finally go through the left tunnel. However, this puzzle may change each playthrough so make sure to listen and follow the voice when it calls out to you while going through the tunnels. When you finally see an enemy go in a certain direction, follow them the way that they go, continue to follow them until you emerge from the tunnels.
-You will enter a graveyard and follow the pathway to enter through the descending ladder.
-You will now be inside the Church during 2022. You will need to collect the Yellow Candle near the 2022 sign on the ground near the door. Go through the door to the left and then right into a room with 1987 on the wall. Take a photo (Photo 12) of 1987. This will take you to 1987. Exit this room and go to your left and then right to open a door. Inside you will be on that altar. There is a Red Storage Safe here if you need it and there is a map on the wall showing the 4 Colored Mazes and the Bell Tower.
-Exit the altar through the open doorway and go up to the Bell Tower to collect the Red Candle. There are maps scattered around the Church showing the pathways to solving the mazes. Make a mental note or draw these out to use if needed when going through the mazes. There will be 2 more candles (Blue and Green) to collect in 1951, but before you go to that time, you will need to try the Yellow and Red Candle on their corresponding color mazes.
Notes:
-Yellow Candle is placed below the God painting (old man).
-Red Candle is placed below the Jesus’ death on the Cross painting.
-Blue Candle is placed below the Virgin Mary painting (woman with crown).
-Green Candle is placed below the angel painting.

-If the painting that corresponds to color of the candle does not exist during that time period (1987), then you will need to use it in the other (1951). So you will need to travel back and forth quickly between these 2 time periods.
-After trying out the Yellow and Red Candle, either you were able to use them by finding the correct color maze painting or not. If you did not use one or the other candle so far then this will need to be done first thing after going into the 1951 time period.
-Go down the center aisle of the Church to a small plaque and interact with it. The ‘i’ will be missing and you will need to obtain it in 1951.
-Go back to the room with the three dates (1951, 1987, and 2022) and take a photo (Photo 13) of 1951. Below where 1951 is there is a bench with the Blue Candle that you need to collect. Exit this room and go to the left and then open the door to enter the altar. The Confessionary is on the altar now and if you still have the Yellow or Red or both candles, then quickly go and find the corresponding painting in their colour mazes. Otherwise go into the Confessionary and interact with the side screen to start a woman’s story. While she is saying the story you can go and try the Blue Candle in the Blue Maze. When she is done her story, she will slip a piece of paper under the locked door. Interact with the paper and this will unleash an enemy during 1951. This means that you will need to move quickly during this time period from now on, otherwise this monster will hunt and kill you. This hunting time will continue even after you go back to 1987 so be quick there also even though it cannot kill you in that time period.
-Go down the center aisle of the Church to collect the Green Candle that is floating in the air. You could try the Green Candle during this time period, but it more than likely will be for the other time period.
-Go back to the room with the three dates (1951, 1987, and 2022) and take a photo (Photo 14) of 1987. Exit the room and renter the altar. If you still have the Green and/or Blue Candles then use them on their corresponding color maze paintings.
-Now that all the candles have been placed under their correct paintings, you will need to go to the Bell Tower and collect the Confessionary Key under the Bell. Head back to the room with the three dates (1951, 1987, and 2022) and take a photo (Photo 15) of 1951. Exit the room and renter the altar. Open the locked Confessionary door and interact with the Nameplate to obtain the letter ‘i’. Then quickly go back to the room with the three dates (1951, 1987, and 2022) and take a photo (Photo 16) of 1987.
-Exit the room and renter the altar. Go down the center aisle of the Church and interact with the plaque to place the letter ‘i’ on it. Now take a photo (Photo 17) of the suspended coffin. Collect the Skull from the floor and exit through the door ahead of you.
-You will now be in a long narrow hallway with the 4 portraits repeated all over them. Go to the other end, open the door, and interact with the brick wall. Go back to the other end, open the door, interact with the brick wall. Repeat the same process until when you come back again that the door has disappeared. Go back to the other door and then be prepared to run back the other way towards where the door disappeared. You will now be back in the attic.

Back in the House (Second Time)
-Leave the attic and then go to the ringing phone in the Dining Room. After, go into the grandparents’ bedroom to the back washroom. In the corner on the floor you will be able to obtain a Red Key for the Red Door in the Basement. You will not be able to open the floor board yet.
-Go to the Red Door in the Basement and use the Red Key. Upon entering, go to the back wall and turn around. The room will change and you will see a light dangling in front of you with shelves surrounding you in a circle. There is a Red Storage Safe here if you near room. Interact once with the dangling light to change the scene. Scan the first two sets of shelves to see if there is a Crowbar on any of them. If not, then hit the light again and look to see if the Crowbar has appeared. Repeat this process until you see the Crowbar and then collect it. The scene will change again and a statue will be near you. Notice that you can hear it breathing. Take a photo (Photo 18) of it. Next, there will be 3 statues, and you will need to determine which is breathing and take its photo (Photo 19). This will continue with more statues where you repeat this process for photos (Photo 20 and 21). Eventually you will be back in the Basement room.
-Next, go upstairs to the Attic and at the foot of the bedframe is a floor board that you can use the Crowbar on. Inside here you will collect a gray secret Tape. Go downstairs to the Dining Room and play the tape.
-Go to the grandparents’ bedroom and into this washroom. Use the Crowbar on the corner floor board to remove it and collect a Ring. Exit and go to the room that had the chair surrounded by floor candles in the parents’ part of the house. On the chair you will collect Triangular Key 2. Interact with the Book that is also on the chair. If you have not interacted with the Sunbox yet, open it and look at the photos inside. Try to do the same with the Moonbox and you will notice that you cannot open it. Place the Sunbox, Skull, and Ring on any of the 4 bowls that the statues are holding. The final bowl will be for the Moonbox after you have opened it and looked at the contents inside.
-Exit the room and go to the right and use the Triangular Key 2 on the locked door to the parents’ basement. After opening the door look at the small shelf and you need to collect the page that is underneath the yellow power tool. Go downstairs and there are 2 switch fuse puzzles to solve like the Generator puzzle. Flip the switches up or down and repeat this until you solve the first and then the second. This will start the table saw. Collect the Bolt Cutter on the wall near the second switch fuse puzzle. Interact with the table saw and use the Moonbox on it. This will cut it open and then collect it again. Interact with it to look at the photos inside. Exit and go back to the room with the 4 statues.
-Place the Moonbox on the last bowl of the statue. Then interact with the small door with the lock on it behind the chair. Upon exiting this room there is Tape 3 on the windowsill across the hallway. Go to the Dining room and play Tape 3.

Horns
-You will have had a demonic moment and then cued to look in your Notebook at the new image of a Horns. You will need to go to the living room and take a photo (Photo 22) of the skull with horns on the wall near the TV. Look at this developed photo and it is the first digit of the locked door code. This code will change every playthrough.

Red Lightbulb
-You will have had a demonic moment and then cued to look in your Notebook at the new image of a Red Lightbulb. You will now need to go to the basement and turn the Generator off by interacting with it. Go to the bathroom across the hallway from the grandparents’ bedroom and use the Bolt Cutters on the bathroom toilet and collect the Small Weight Block. Also, go to the Kitchen and use the Bolt Cutters on the locked upper cabinet near the stove. The front doorbell will start to ring and you will need to go to the front of the house where the gramophone and piano were located in the grandparents’ part of the house. (Note: Before continuing the game, quit to the main menu and exit the game. Make a Cloud or manual Save. Make sure to turn off auto sync game save data also. In this next section of the game it is timed and if you do not get the trophy then you can quit and reload the previous save.)

Mausoleum
Make sure that the Hammer is in your inventory before starting this section of the game. Go where the front door was blocked by the piano and it is now open to a hallway leading to an elevator. Enter the elevator and enter Floor 1. Exit the elevator and find the hole in the wall that says “Robert Hale”. Take a photo (Photo 23) of this hole showing the correct name. If you have done this correctly then the elevator will ding a bell sound. Go back onto the elevator. Choose Floor 2 and then find “Judith Hale” in one of the wall holes. Take a photo (Photo 24) of this and the elevator bell dings again. Proceed to Floor 3 to find “Drake Fletcher”, but you will need to use the Hammer to open some of these holes to check what’s inside. Then take a photo (Photo 25) of this and the elevator bell dings again. Move to Floor 4, use the Hammer as needed, find “Lynn Jamie”, and take a photo (Photo 26) of this. After the elevator bell sounds, move another Floor 5 and take a photo (Photo 27) of the mirror on the wall behind the pillar. The developed photo will have the second digit of the code for the locked door on it. Collect the Clock Room Key from the opening in the wall and then go back to the Ground Floor. Exit back into the house. (Note: If you did not earn “You…” trophy then reload the previous save and try again.)

Clock Room
-Go back to the basement and turn the Generator back on. Next go and use the Clock Room Key on the locked door that between the grandparents’ bathroom and the living room. Go down the stairs into the Clock Room. You will have had a demonic moment and then cued to look in your Notebook at the new image of a Red Clock. Look at the 4 walls for the times that are shown and make note of them. Go to the desk and use the Bolt Cutters on the lock. Collect the first part of the code for the Green Safe that is in the Grandfather’s office. The second part of the code is on a shelf in the grandparents’ bathroom. Proceed to Grandfather’s office and use the code on the Green Safe. After opening the Green Safe, interact with the Note and the Clock Face inside.
-You will now be going to 4 different areas of the house to interact with the coo-coo clocks to swap the Clock Faces. Once you retrieve one, go to the Clock Room and use it on the corresponding coo-coo clock that matches the clocks’ time on that wall. The 4 coo-coo clocks are located in: the Attic, near the portrait in the hallway near the start of the game, the Kitchen, and outside of the Grandfather’s office. Once you have returned and placed all 4 Clock Faces on the correct coo-coo clocks, the times will start to change. When the cutscene ends and things seem normal, take a photo (Photo 28) of the white door that is locked. The developed photo will have the third number in the locked door code on it. The door will open and you will collect a Small Clock that is hanging in the middle of the room.

Johnny’s Room/Blue Knees
-You will have had a demonic moment and then cued to look in your Notebook at the new image of a Red Safe with a Combination on it. Go back to the Grandfather’s office and use the combination on the Red Safe under the desk. Note: The combination will change every playthrough. Start with the outside ring and count the red markings, including the arrow tips as the number to move left, then the next inner ring so many right, and finally the inner most ring for some many left. Collect the Johnny Key that inside (Luca’s father, Johnny, his childhood bedroom key).
Notes:
1. Before continuing with the next part of the game make sure that you have collected all the red collectible photos that are in the house.

2. Before continuing the game, quit to the main menu and exit the game. Make a Cloud or manual Save. Make sure to turn off auto sync game save data also. In the next section of the game you cannot get caught by Blue Knees. If you get caught you can quit and reload the previous save.
-Go to Luca’s dad’s childhood bedroom and use the Johnny Key to open the door. You will need to place 4 items on the indicated hooks. They are:
Rabbit gets the Small Clock
Rat gets the Small Weight Block
Snake gets the Medium Weight Block
Shark gets the Large Weight Block
After correctly placing these, the bird cage will open and you will take a photo (Photo 29) of it. Interact with the book to reveal the story of Blue Knees.
-Upon finishing the book, you will be in a playroom in the house. You will need to take a photo (Photo 30) of the crack in the floor. The door to the room will now open and you will need to exit and go searching for the Gramophones. The layout of the house has now changed. The Attic is a room on the main floor. Other parts of the house are rearranged, however, there are 6 Gramophones throughout the house to interact with. You will need to interact with the Gramophone and hold onto the handle to listen to the song completely, take about 30 seconds. If you stop, then the song will need to start over. If you play the song completely, there is a chance that the horn of the Gramophone will have an Eye to collect inside it. If you hear Blue Knees coming then be ready to use the Camera to take a photo of him. (Note: You do have room to take photos of him and still be under 40 photos during a full playthrough.) Sometimes Blue Knees will spawn directly upon you and you have no time to react, if this happens then reload your save and try again. Blue Knees is much more aggressive when playing on Hard difficulty. After playing various Gramophones and successfully obtaining the 2 Eyes, return to the playroom. Interact with the crack in the floor to throw the Eyes in and then take a photo (Photo 30) of the crack in the floor. This developed photo is the last digit of the code for the small locked door.

Final Transition
-After the cutscene, exit the room and follow the enemy to the room with the small locked door where the statues were with the items you placed in the bowls. Use the code to open the lock and interact with the pedestal inside and the urn on top, then place the Camera on the pedestal and interact with the chair

Stage 2 – Play through the story on Hard.

Complete the mausoleum section under 5 minutes.

At a certain point in the game you will hear the front doorbell and you are instructed to go and answer it. When you go to where the front door is located, it will have changed and lead to an elevator. See the ‘Stage 1 Walkthrough‘ for more details. When you have completed all 5 levels of the elevator/mausoleum and go back into where the front door of the house was, you will earn this trophy if you completed it in under 5 minutes.

Follow me
Complete the tunnels section under 3 minutes.

After solving the attic puzzle of 43, you will need to collect the Lighter on the left table before going through the open door where 43 was located. You will enter the tunnels and you will need to navigate through them to get through them. There is a red collectible photo in the tunnels. When trying to go through the tunnels, there will be parts that curve around left or right and these are loops that either are dead ends or go back to the main tunnel. Listen carefully as you will hear a voice calling for Luca to follow. Follow this voice and eventually you will see someone and you will need to follow them until you exit the tunnels.

You will probably complete this on your second or third playthrough once you are familiar with the tunnels. Get through them in less than 3 minutes to earn this trophy.

Found it!
Complete the shelves section under 5 minutes.

After finding the red basement key, you will need to use it to enter this basement area. Make sure that you have at least 1 empty space in your Inventory (although there is a Red Storage Safe during the next area.) Go into the room and there is a red collectible. Go to the back near the wall sign and then turn around. The room will change and there will be a light that is lowered in front of you. You will need to hit the light with R2 and wait for the cutscene to end. Then look in a circular motion where you are standing to see if there is a Crowbar on one of the nearby shelves. If there is not then hit the light again. Look for the Crowbar again and repeat this process until you find the Crowbar and collect it. Hit the light after getting the Crowbar and now there will be a statue. This statue will be making a breathing noise. Take a photo of it. Now there will 3 statues and you will need to take a photo of the breathing one. Continue to do this process until the cutscenes end and you can exit this basement room. If you complete this in under 5 minutes then you will earn this trophy.

Blinded
Blind Blue Knees five times.

Make a game save by exiting the game to the main menu after you have obtained the key to Dad’s room in the grandparents’ part of the house. This is before you complete the weight puzzle. Enter this room, complete the weight puzzle, and then read the Blue Knees storybook. You will bring Blue Knees to life in the house and the house layout will have changed. Some of the changes will be that there is no accessible basement area, but the attic will be on this floor and different parts of the first floor will be rearranged in their layout.

When you see or hear Blue Knees coming towards you, take out your Camera and take a photo within about 3 – 4m (10 – 13′) of Blue Knees. This will blind him and make him disappear for a few minutes. Do this five times to earn this trophy.

Hunger
Survive through the entire Blue Knees section.

Make a game save by exiting the game to the main menu after you have obtained the key to Dad’s room in the grandparents’ part of the house. This is before you complete the weight puzzle. Enter this room, complete the weight puzzle, and then read the Blue Knees storybook. You will bring Blue Knees to life in the house. Take a photo of the playroom floor crack to open this room’s door. Take note that the house layout will have changed. Some of the changes will be that there is no accessible basement area, but the attic will be on this floor and different parts of the first floor will be rearranged in their layout.

There will be Phonographs that you will need to interact with and play a 30 second tune. If you stop playing the tune then you will have to start it over. When the song is done a possible collectible Eyeball will be inside the horn of the Phonograph. Not all of these are collectible. You will need to collect 2 Eyeballs. There are 6 Phonographs available to be played, however Blue Knees will be wandering the house at the same time. During the playing of the tune, you will need to listen to detect if Blue Knees is nearby. When you see or hear Blue Knees coming towards you, take out your Camera and take a photo within about 3 – 4m (10 – 13′) of Blue Knees and this will blind him and make him disappear for a few minutes.

Get the 2 Eyeballs and put them into the playthrough floor crack. Next take a photo of this floor crack.

Red
