Welcome to the trophy guide for Bot Gaiden. This can also be considered a walkthrough and may be used for PlayStation 4, 5, Xbox One, Series X and Steam. Achievements for Steam and Xbox are in almost all cases the same as the PlayStation 4/5 Trophies. A roadmap is provided in the stages below.

Stage 1 – Obtain Upgrades
-Choose Casual – A Chill Experience when creating a save file.
-It is recommended to use Circle and Triangle for the Jump and Attack buttons instead of X and Square, as there is less of a chance of pressing the touchpad which resets the level.
-Ignore the fact that there is a level select and play through each level in turn to obtain the abilities, upgrades and extra lives needed for Level 7.
-Compete Level 4 within 4 minutes to earn Sling Star ability at the start of every level.
Optional – Replay all 6 Levels and complete them under 2 minutes to earn the upgrades.
Replay Level 1 for the Lightspeed Gears – When you have all abilities collecting another gear will freeze the timer, as well as giving you hyper speed, making it easier to complete the other levels within 2 minutes.
It is highly recommended to at least replay Level 4 for the Spread Sling Star and Level 5 for the Glider Bombs. Especially Level 4 as the game would be challenging to complete without Spread Sling Stars and are required for boss fights.
Stage 2 – Level 7
Level 7 – Now you have all the upgrades required, play through the shorter iterations of levels 1 – 6 to reach the end boss, mainly gliding your way across the top of the screen, dropping bombs, to skip most of the sections with ease. Try to keep your health full ready for the boss by collecting the shield batteries/health pickups along the way. Once you reach the boss use the Spread Sling Stars to destroy the Power Skulls that surround him. Gliding from platform to platform dropping Glider Bombs also helps but note that jumping up and off the top of the screen too much can cause a rare glitch, that affects the camera and stops the screen scrolling. Continue hitting him like before until his health is almost depleted to trigger a cutscene. Then, during the second boss, jump left to the platforms while also pressing attack to destroy any rocks in your path in order to reach the portal.

Stage IV
Finish stage 4.
Boss fight – Apart from Stage 7 this is probably the hardest boss, one of the frogs is vulnerable to your attacks so aim for the other. Best advice is to stay in the middle centre of the screen and attack when the enemies jump near you by crouching and attacking. The trophy will pop when you kill the boss. Collect the Power Skull to end the level.
Below is a video showing the boss fight before obtaining upgrades
and a video showing the 2 min speed run of the level.

Power III
Collect 96 ability items.
These collectibles are known as gears and can be found around the levels in plain sight and hard to miss, collecting them gives you an ability such as double jump, dash or Sling Stars. Collecting 96 across multiple playthroughs will pop this trophy.

Stage VII
Finish stage 7.
It is recommended to only attempt this level once you have at least the Spread Sling Stars upgrade from completing Level 4 under 2 minutes and the Glider Bombs from completing Level 5 under 2 minutes. Once you have all the upgrades required, play through the shorter iterations of levels 1 – 6 to reach the end boss, mainly gliding your way across the top of the screen, dropping bombs, to skip most of the sections with ease.
Here is a video playthrough of the level. The trophy will pop during the cutscene after entering the portal.

Stage VI
Finish stage 6.
During the boss fight, keep jumping up and attacking from the left. The trophy will pop when you kill the boss. Collect the Power Skull to end the level.

Stage V
Finish stage 5.
The best advice is to have the Spread Sling Stars before playing this level and certainly the Lightspeed gears. The boss is easy enough, as usual let the Sling Stars do the work, also attack it’s feet. The trophy will pop when you kill the boss. Collect the Power Skull to end the level.

Stage III
Finish stage 3.
Reach the boss then simply stand on the platform above you and slightly to the left, let the Sling Star hit the boss to deplete its health. The trophy will pop when you kill the boss. Collect the Power Skull to end the level.

Stage II
Finish stage 2.
Reach the boss then avoid the boss’ jumps, but mainly let the Sling Star do most the work. Attack it’s foot. The trophy will pop when you kill the boss. Collect the Power Skull to end the level.

Stage I
Finish stage 1.
Reach the boss then simply stand on the top left platform above you and let the Sling Star deplete the bosses health. The trophy will pop when you kill the boss. Collect the Power Skull to end the level.
