Welcome to the trophy guide for Zombie Army 4: Dead War. This can also be considered a walkthrough and may be used for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Steam. Achievements for Steam and Xbox are in almost all cases the same as the PlayStation 4 Trophies. A roadmap is provided in the stages below.
Follow us on twitter for the latest news and giveaways.
Stage 1 – Play online multiplayer in a Four Member Team to Complete the Campaign on Hard Difficulty.
To earn all the trophies you need to complete the Campaign as an online team of 4 members on Hard Difficulty. For the Campaign, you only need to complete the last chapter of the 9 Missions, so you can join Campaign sessions online. Also, you will then unlock the ability to play every chapter in these Missions after playing even the last chapter of each Mission, then you can set-up and host your own online team to complete any of the Mission Chapters. All of the Mission Chapters have the Objectives in the top left area of the screen. As a new quest or action is available it will be shown there so the chapters are very straight forward to complete.
Stage 2 – Horde Mode, Trophy Cleanup for Collectibles, and XP Leveling.
After completing the game in Stage 1 you can play the rest on Easy Difficulty.
You will have to complete certain requirements for upgrading 3 weapons to master level. You will want to use and upgrade 3 specific weapons (see ‘I can do anything I want. I got guns trophy description.)
Horde Maps are completed the fastest when you host an online multiplayer game where you set the amount of zombies to ‘1 player’ and have chosen Easy Difficulty. This will allow you have up to 4 members online, but the zombie count will be like you were playing a solo Horde Mode. You will need to complete 12 consecutive waves and then successfully exit the area to earn these trophies.
Find all the collectibles in the game. Under Records you can see how many collectibles you have found/need to find, then in the Missions selection screen, you can select specific chapters and see what you have left to collect.
Other trophies are very specific and are detailed in the trophy descriptions below.
How’s that for a slice of fried Platinum?
Win all other trophies to take your place as the world’s greatest apocalypse survivor.
Unlock all other trophies and congratulations you Zombie Slayer!
Hail to the king, baby!
Reach Rank 100.
If you have not reached Rank 100 (1 million XP) by the time you have completed all other trophies then attempt this trophy. You can play any Modes that you like on any Horde Map. If you die before getting the minimum to be awarded more XP, you will be awarded 500 XP on any of them. It takes about a minute or two to rinse and repeat this method.
Finish a level with 5 or less zombies resurrecting.
On Easy Difficulty, complete the final chapter only for Dead Ahead. Run past all of the zombies and only defeat the zombies that require you to move through a Sealed Door and to finish the level to escape.
I can do anything I want. I got guns
Complete the weapon mastery for 3 weapons.
You can choose any 3 weapons to upgrade that you like. Each one has specific benefits or drawbacks, depending your style of play. You can get lots of Weapon Upgrade collectibles, make a Cloud or USB save before upgrading your weapons to try to earn this trophy, then see if you prefer that weapon and its requirements for mastering it. If you do not like it, then reload your save to try another.
Upgrade all of the options for your pistol, primary and secondary weapons. This will allow you to then be able to do the mastery part for each weapon, therefore you need to focus on getting the weapon upgrade collectibles. Weapon upgrade collectibles are scattered throughout the chapters as pickups, or they are obtained for completing certain actions in the game (see the above video link in Stage 2 for all the collectibles.)
You’ve got red on you
Perform 50 Takedowns in total.
Takedowns are can be done by pressing X after your Takedown Meter is full and you are close to a zombie. However, for Heavies, they require to be injured and in a resting state first before you can use a takedown on them. Successfully complete 50 takedowns to earn this trophy. In the picture below, the Takedown Meter is on the right of the bottom center, shown as a red skull.
Reach Rank 50.
See ‘Hail to the king, baby!’ trophy description.
This is no Sunday School picnic!
Complete the Campaign on Hard difficulty.
You will only have to complete all 9 Missions on Hard Difficulty. If you are playing SOLO offline, then you will play the entire campaign. If you are playing online, make sure to set the zombie amount to be ‘1 player’ as this greatly reduces the number of zombies. Plus, you can have up to 4 players on your team.
That’s a lot of them, and only 4 of us
Complete every campaign level with a full team of four players.
You will only have to complete the 9 Missions on any Difficulty with 4 players. You can either browse the online games and join in any session to complete these missions. Be aware that you will need to have 4 players online at the same time at the end of each mission in order for it to count.
Evert bullet counts
Get 3 headshots with one bullet.
To achieve this trophy, it is easiest to line up zombies’ heads and shoot them with your rifle using your scope. There are many areas where there are large numbers of zombies, like the Blood Fountains or before breaking the Sealed Doors.
Come and get it! It’s a running buffet!
Kill 20+ enemies with 1 explosive.
One easy method is to use a Bait Grenade near an environmental explosive device (they have a glowing red shine when you look through your scope). Shoot the glowing red part to activate it and to get the zombies to go near the device. Eventually you will be to attract 20+ enemies and it will explode with them all close to it.
Leave the limbs you’ve lost
Sever 10,000 limbs.
This will be earned naturally by playing through the game. Zombies can be torn apart with weapon fire and special ammunition that explodes. You can also stomp on them when they are on the ground to make them their bodies fly apart. After tearing apart your 10,000 limb from the zombies you will earn this trophy.
What did you say, Blain?
Complete 4 level sections without using a medkit.
In any chapter, there are 4 level sections to get through. This is can be done on Easy Difficulty. You can run past zombies to avoid losing any health, and once you successfully get through 4 level sections without using a Medkit, you will earn this trophy. You can take health damage though, takedown zombies to gain health, sometimes stomping on zombies that are on the ground will give you health, and your teammates can use Divine Grenades (walk into the area glowing on the ground where it exploded to receive health).
A friend in need
Revive other players 50 times.
The fastest way is to host an online multiplayer game on Hard Difficulty where friendly fire is on. This way you can shoot your teammate(s), go up to them and hold X to revive them. This may come naturally as you play the Campaign online with teammates and complete the Horde Maps many times. You can check in the Main Menu under Records and then check the Leader boards to see how many Revives you have completed. Repeat this 50 times.
Stand back boy!
Kill 3 enemies with one blast from a Preacher.
In some chapters you will be able to find a Preacher weapon inside of the weapon attachment crates. Most Missions will have a Preacher inside of a weapons attachment crate somewhere within the chapters. These are random occurrences as you may get the electric, explosive, or fire attachment for your weapon, or a Flamer, Gunner, or Butcher’s weapon instead when you open a weapon attachment crate. Once you obtain one, kill 3 enemies in one shot to earn this trophy.
Kill of the week
Drop a Shell Cargo Pallet on a Zombie.
During Hell Base Chapter 1, there are Shell Cargo Pallets in the area where the snipers’ area. Make sure there are zombies underneath the Shell Cargo Pallet, shoot it so that it drops down onto the zombies, and explodes on them.
Shoot it, man! Shoot it in the head!
Headshot a Zombie post resurrection.
If you do not headshot a zombie to kill it, there is a chance that it will resurrect again. When you see one resurrect, there will be red glowing light around it as it trashes back to life. Then you will need to kill it with a headshot to earn this trophy.
Got your back
Kill 50 enemies that are actively attacking other players.
In any game mode where you are playing with other players, when another player is being attacked by a zombie, kill the zombie. Repeat this 50 times.
Say goodbye, creep!
Kill a Zombie using the Blade Melee Special Attack.
The Blade Melee Special Attack is the default Perk given at the beginning of the game. When your Melee Attack Meter is full, you can press R3 to click it down while close to a zombie to kill it. You will hear a ring sound during this animated attack move and other zombies cannot attack you during this move. In the picture below, the Melee Attack Meter is shown on the left of center in the bottom.
Zombie killin’ machine
Kill 5000 enemies of any kind.
Playing any of the game modes, the whole point of this game is to kill zombies. The more you kill the better. The more repeated kills the better. You will kill well over 5000 while trying to earn the platinum trophy for this game. You can check your Zombie Kill count in the Main Menu under Records.
Give me something to shoot!
Kill a Sniper whilst they are jumping between vantage points.
In many different game modes, you will be able to have access to kill a Sniper while it is jumping to another location. You will know that Snipers are around when you hear a distinctive sound and see the green laser beam from their sniper rifle. As soon as this happens focus on defeating them as soon as possible.
The bigger they are…
Kill 5 Heavies with takedowns.
Heavies are the Flamer (Flamethrower), Gunner (Machine Gun), and Butcher (Double Saw Blade Weapon).
For the Flamer shoot their tanks on their back multiple times until they collapse to the ground and their tanks are spewing two flames. Then perform a takedown on them. If the tank is spewing 3 flames then it will explode and this will not allow you to do a takedown on them.
For the Gunner and Butcher, it is easiest to shoot them with multiple headshots to break their helmets and then continue to shoot them until they collapse to the ground, then perform a takedown on them.
After doing 5 Heavy takedowns, you will earn this trophy.
I never like them anyway
Kill a friend who has resurrected as a zombie.
You will need to play an online multiplayer and have one player die (by choice or through regular gameplay), then when this player is resurrected as a zombie, you will need to kill them.
Get an unbroken 10-headshot streak.
To earn this trophy, you need to headshot 10 Zombies before your multiple kill count meter runs out. It is easiest to achieve during Dead Ahead Chapter 2 before leaving the Safe House, go down the stairs and complete the Zombie Shoot. All the Zombies here are being held in position so shooting them with headshots is much easier to do without the multiple kill count meter running out or missing headshots. Make sure that you do not have any upgrades for electrical shock, fire bullets, or explosive bullets setup as upgrades on the weapon you are using here.
Kill 20 zombies with Electric Punch Special Attack.
Use the Electric Punch Special Attack by equipping it before playing a game mode, then when your Melee Attack Meter is full, be near a zombie, press R3 to click it down, and this releases the Electric Punch Special Attack. Repeat 20 times.
Cleanup on aisle 4!
Kill a Suicider with his own explosives.
During any Mission (after learning about Suiciders) or on any Horde Map, you will be able to kill a Suicider with its own explosives. You only have to make sure that the Suicider detonates the explosives itself. You can shoot the body of the Suicider to knock it down, shove it away from you to knock it down, or run away from it so that it naturally explodes itself. See the picture below.
Take them down screaming
Perform a Takedown on a Blind Screamer.
During any Mission (after learning about Blind Screamer) or on any Horde Map, you will be able to kill it while your Takedown Meter is full. Since they respond to sounds, you will either want to sneak up on it from behind or distract it by throwing a grenade to get it to move where you can get behind it. You can even get past one and then kill more zombies to get your Takedown Meter full. Then go back with the same area, if you can, to use the Takedown on it.
Change your characters appearance, such as with a hat or costume.
Before a campaign Mission or Horde Map, choose your Character and customize him or her. There are only 4 characters in the base game. For example, change their hat as shown below in the picture.
