Welcome to the trophy guide for Retro Classix: Heavy Barrel. This can also be considered a walkthrough and may be used for PlayStation 4, 5, Xbox One, Series X and Steam. Achievements for Steam and Xbox are in almost all cases the same as the PlayStation 4/5 Trophies. A roadmap is provided in the stages below.

Stage 1 – Complete the game obtaining the High Scores
For this section, have fun and complete the game. In doing so you will earn the High Score and Top score trophies. Do not worry about dying and continuing, even though dying resets the score, completing the game will earn you the points needed.
You may also get the Coin related trophies for adding 20 and 150 Credits during this stage. Playing in 2 player mode is also an option here.
IMPORTANT – Be quick at inputting your initials after the credits, sometimes the game can quickly reset back to the main menu, meaning you will have to complete the whole game again.
Stage 2 – 2 Player and Timed Trophies
Have a second local account active and start a new game in 2 player mode.
IMPORTANT FOR THE TIMED TROPHIES: Do not pause the game. Do not go to the XMB menu. Do not check your trophies via the quick menu. Instead, set a stopwatch or make note of the time, and wait for the timed trophies to pop. The 30min trophy could be closer to 35-40 mins playtime, and the hour trophy 35-40 mins afterwards. It is also recommended to be actively pressing an input, on both player’s controllers. If you stay idle for too long grenades will appear around you. As soon as the 2 player trophy pops, feel free to stop using that player once they die. You must be in the same game for at least 1 hour for all the timed trophies, as the whole game takes less than 1 hour to complete you must drag it out as much as possible. Boss fights are good for this.
The 150 coins trophy can also easily be done during this stage.
Please note that it is possible to combine Stage 1 and 2 together. Simply start a 2 player game, add 150 credits, drag out the game for the timed trophies and then complete it for the score trophies.
Retro Buddies
Play for a while with a friend.
Have a second local account active, press R1 to add credits, and press options on player 2’s controller for them to join the game. It is recommended to have both players actively pressing inputs, as standing idle doesn’t seem to work towards this or the timed trophies, and after awhile grenades will appear around the players. After 5 – 10 mins this trophy will pop.
Master
You got the top score.
Simply completing the game will give you enough points to enter the scoreboard and get the top score. IMPORTANT – Be quick at inputting your initials after the credits, sometimes the game can quickly reset back to the main menu, meaning you will have to complete the whole game again.
Superfan
You played over 1 hour!
IMPORTANT – Do not pause the game. Do not go to the XMB menu. Do not check your trophies via the quick menu. Instead, set a stopwatch or make note of the time, and wait for the trophies to pop around 1 hour, give or take 5 mins. As the whole game takes less than 1 hour to complete you must drag it out as much as possible. It’s ok to die, just make sure you press continue and don’t let the timer run out. It is recommended to be actively pressing an input. Boss fights are good for wasting time.
Coin Wizard
You spent more than 150 coins.
In order to play the game, you need to add credits by pressing R1. Simply pressing R1 150 times will pop this trophy.
Apprentice
You made the high-score list.
See the “Master” trophy.
Welcome!
Play for at least 5 minutes.
This trophy will come naturally during Stage 1.
Dedication!
You played for 30 minutes or more.
See the “Superfan” trophy.
Coin Operator
You spent more than 20 coins.
In order to play the game you need to add credits by pressing R1. Simply pressing R1 20 times will pop this trophy.
