Stage 1 – Welcome
To make it as easy as possible, select the Easy option after you have decided on what character to play as. It doesn’t matter which character you use and there are no difficulty related trophies.
The levels are randomly generated, meaning each time you play the game, you could possibly face different enemies, bosses, power ups and mad events than any previous gameplay. The mad event is almost like a mini stage, where you have to dodge everything.
There are no patterns to learn like there is normally with this genre, shoot everything and dodge the enemy bullets. You can also hold R2 to slow down time if you are struggling against the spray of bullets from a boss for example.
Stage 2 – What to aim for while playing.
Focusing on these trophies will get you all other trophies along the way:
Aim to get a score of 100,000 – This is the only trophy that has to be done in 1 game session, and the hardest. All other trophies are accumulative. Shoot everything, collect all the power ups to give you an advantage, and press R2 to slow down the time to make it easier. Your current score is situated in the top right of the screen. Very doable though and should come some time after you have killed the 1st boss.
Lose 24 shields – If your fighter gets hit by a bullet or projectile, it will lose a shield, 1 of 5. Lose them all for Game Over. You can collect more during the game that have been dropped by killed enemies, by flying into them to collect them, either a Shield looking symbol pickup, or the letter S. Losing 24 shields across multiple games will get you this trophy. You can see how many shields you have in the bottom left of the screen, they look like batteries.
Kill 4 bosses – The boss enemies are much larger than normal enemies and have a health bar, which is displayed across the top of the screen. before the boss appears there will be a explanation mark symbol flashing on the screen. You will come across some mini bosses, which don’t have a health bar, those don’t count towards this trophy. Shoot the boss constantly, dodging any bullets or projectiles. Press R2 to slow down the time to make it easier. Kill 4 bosses across multiple game plays for this trophy.
Kill 300 enemies – Shoot to kill! Most enemies will appear from the top of the screen but some appear along the edges. Hold the fire button down even when you can’t see any enemies to ensure a kill or get a few hits in. This trophy will come naturally and is accumulative across games played.
Encounter 6 mad events – A mad event is a mini section in the level that appears about half way through a level, where you have to dodge projectiles. The words ‘Mad Event’ will flash in white and yellow across the screen. Accumulative across games.
Collect 50 power ups – Quite possibly your last trophy before the plat. Accumulative across game plays. When an enemy dies it sometimes drops a powerup, normally a symbol within a square, collect it by flying into it. One example is the letter M, which gives you missiles. Collect 50 for the trophy.
All of the above can be seen in this video. Project Starship Platinum Playthrough, mistakes and all. Have fun!
